I, for one, have smacked my forehead innumerable times over the years in relation to some of Jackson's actions.
I don't believe I have ever questioned his endeavour and commitment to the team-cause ... it's more a question I have had about some of skills and decision-making.
That said, things have shifted for this fine young man and he is having a ripper season.
I would happily stand and applaud if he were to receive the club's ultimate accolade at the end of the season.

I reckon you won't be alone, it would be a very popular win.

Jacko has been great fun to watch this year. Seems to have a better handle on the gameplan and his role in it.

Quite a few actually. I expect Baloo would say "the ones without blinkers on" and I would agree with him.

Given Jacko had a Barry Crocker of a year in 2012, it would have taken some die hards to predict the improvement.

Realistically, would anyone have given him even the remotest chance of winning the B&F?

Considering he's come second before while playing out of position, and has been injured for the last two years, the it's not that big a leap to think he'd be in the running for the JD again now that he's fit and we have a team that can play to Jacko's exacting standards.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Maybe this should go on the Rumour Board. I dunno. But anyway I was at a Jackson Foundation Charity Ball at Jackson Manor not so long ago when I took to snooping around. In the study, on an American Walnut desk, stood a bronze bust of Jack Dyer.

Mr Jackson appeared behind me in the doorway to the study. He said "Dyer'ere."

I said, "Mr Jackson". And raised my drink. Then I pointed my umbrella and sprayed him with nerve gas. (I was working for Collingwood at the time.)

He fell.

The Batman (looking a little skinnier and a lot frailer than I remembered him) suddenly crashed in through the Queen Anne window and began some kind of kerfuffle. Luckily friends of mine were meditating behind the alcove curtains and we were able to defend ourselves prior to a hasty Queen Anne departure.

So in answer to your question, Daniel Jackson is just another hapless benevolent billionaire. He is not Batman.

I, for one, wouldn't, after his 2012 season, have given him the slightest chance for the JD medal this year.
To be honest, I thought he might struggle to get a game on a consistent basis this year, but he has proven me wrong and I am more than happy to eat some humble pie.
Now I am sort of hoping that he continues his performances and does indeed snare himself a B&F.
If nothing else I reckon his acceptance speech would be a pearler.

Thanks BT. He's into a number of social issues that are important in my book, yet he's not like Harry O'Brien in that he seems to go about his stuff without the fanfare or desire to share it with the media.

Yep, Jacko is not celf-centred like Harry "Look at me, look at me" O'.

On games played he finished around 10th in our b&f despite injury woes. Those who thought he'd do well in it this year would be far closer to the mark than the majority on here who didn't have him in their round 1 team, had him in their outs week after week, reckoned he'd struggle to get a game all year and said he should never play for us again.

He's also a good deal smarter. I wouldn't have thought at the start of the year Jacko would have gotten anywhere near the B&F, however even this far out I can't see him missing top 3, and I don't see anyone more deserving of winning it on performances week in week out.
