He seems to give the impression he is naturally a bit shy, seems to have gained confidence and I thought he was very good as captain. Good sign that the atmosphere at the club suits him. Another great performance too. And, we have a fair few more years of Dusty to look forward to. Would be great if he can be one of the leadership group, I reckon he would have a lot to offer.

Another good performance against the Saints and one of the things I think already show with Dustin's leadership is his ability to bring others into the game. For such a top player he is incredibly selfless. I know there was a bit of discussion about kicking efficiency on the weekend and while some of it is warranted I was interested to hear what Phil Davis said during the last quarter after the kick to Chol who then passed to Stack for a set shot........( it may not be exactly word for word but it's close and yes I was procrastinating but really that 4th quarter is worth rewatching ;) )

Phil Davis - 'The thing for me today is with Dusty his kicking efficiency .. yeah is low but a lot of it is under pressure and duress and surging it forward while that precision kick then to Chol sets up this goal. He breaks the whole game open just by his ball use and he's done that multiple, multiple times today.'
After the goal and as part of the replay they show the kick from Martin to Chol and Davis adds ' It's just what I think separates him from you know in terms of through the middle of the ground, he's got penetration, he takes on a lot & sometimes he turns it over ......you know a brave player to go through there but also the ability to execute with such speed because anytime you go through the corridor that's a long kick the flight time is usually what kills you but he gets there faster than almost anybody else.'

If i hear one more time Kelly has gone past him i will throw up.
Kelly is no more then Peverell was to Essendon when they were dominating.
I reckon Kelly is a bit overated.
Cant wait to see how he goes at freo.
At west coast he will be the same player he is at Geelong.
Where was he in the elimination final last year??

Whilst on Cotchy and Dusty, in the book by Konrad Marshall, 'Yellow & Black', Cotch stated in his 2017 end of season review that his goal was to be like Dusty when going forward, unfortunately he hasn't been able to add that string to his bow and when he does get it is close to the worst set shot in the team.
Great player is our Cotch, a bit baffled why he is not more dangerous when forward.

Great read that book :) . I guess it would have to be a confidence thing and perhaps not being able (or allowed) to put in the extra workload for practising his set shots. Cotch is such a battering ram of a player it must be taking a toll on his body and it certainly would be great is he could develop his set shot skills a little more and extend his career. I really would like to see the Cotchin / Martin centre square/ team song buddies combination continue for several more years

Probably been mentioned previously, just watching the promo to U18 final about to start at the aptly renamed Chernobyl stadium.
Shows the greats back when they were kids and then the big time.
Left the best til last...
Dusty ....Dusty..... Dusty .....! (Only decent bit of commentary Zemplis has ever done!)

Dusty purring along at the moment...... would love him to absolutely stick it to GWS.
If the snorter is back, hopefully Cholly, who appears to love Dustin, is playing, and can finish the old codger off for good!

Slow startbut still pretty damn good. Judged on very high standards. I wish he would have a shot from 50-55 out instead of passing it

Seemed a bit quiet but when he got the ball in traffic he seems to have that ability to just break free which is fabulous.

He is getting more space.

However, to my eyes, the space he is getting is at the defensive side of the pack. I think that in 2017 he was able to power through the pack into space more often, leading to quicker and more damaging disposals. This year he seems to be turning towards the defensive side and while still creating danger it is often a few seconds slower which reduces his attacking options. Perhaps the comp is working out how to limit his effectiveness down from god-like to just f'ken good. :)

A look to the future when there might be grandfather - grandson draft concessions on offer
Shud b now and then we cud pick up Green who is touted a top 5 pick instead of going to bloody GWS as yet ANOTHER academy pick. Greens grandfater was a 4 time Tiger premiership player..

We need Dusty to get back to his awesome best. People defending him because of past deeds, but we must face reality that he’s way down on what we know he can do. The champion status belongs to players who perform at the top year upon year. He’s been at the very top but is not top 20 atm.
Dusty hits his straps, and we’re a lot closer to winning the Premiership.
