Sad but I think he will get off. It's the Barry Hall rule.

Absolute disgrace if it happens. Disgraceful act and should be a minimum 2. If the outcome goes as expected, the AFL is essentially saying it's ok to club a guy off the ball. Instead of the media talking about what a terrible message this is sending to our youth playing the game, they are instead arguing how he can 'beat the system' on a technicality. Absolutely disgusting, and the media are complicit in this.

Low impact :rotfl2

From the AFL's 2019 Tribunal guidelines

(B) IMPACT Consideration will be given as to whether the impact is Low, Medium, High or Severe. In determining the level of impact, regard will be had to several factors. Firstly, consideration will be given to the extent of force and in particular, any injury sustained by the Player who was offended against. Secondly, strong consideration will be given to the potential to cause injury, particularly in the following cases: » Intentional head-high strikes, such as those with a swinging clenched fist, raised forearm or elbow; » High bumps, particularly with significant head contact and/or Player momentum; » Any head-high contact with a Player who has his head over the ball, particularly when contact is made from an opponent approaching from a front-on position; » Forceful round arm swings that make head-high contact to a Player in a marking contest, ruck contest or when tackling; » Spear tackles; and » Driving an opponent into the ground when his arms are pinned. The absence of injury does not preclude the classification of impact as Severe

There are 4 categories Severe , High, Medium and Low. Absolutely no way you can categorise Hawkins action as low. Ludicrous.
not low? you think Hawkins little slap on the face was worse than Soldo's vicious flying elbow?

MRO has really looked stupid with the Greene suspension after the way it was handled last week. They'll not want another blowup this week.

According to Hawkins’ evidence, Schofield was trying to stop Hawkins getting the ball. He wasn’t expecting that so he belted him.

Who knew that people try to restrict you from getting the ball? It must be a new thing.

Slowest live tribunal I've ever seen. Do they pause for 3 minutes after every question and comment?

Hawkins says he and Schofield are friends outside footy and that he knows him from school.

Means nothing Tommy boy.

Photo on the AFL site shows Hawkins left hand on Schofields shoulder and his right arm straight and fist cocked. Schofield is in front.

I am not a betting man but would put money on Hawkins and the Cats weaselling their way out o this
He hit someone behind play. Should have been 2 weeks reduced to 1 after taking an early plea.

Now with the ‘low impact’ nonsence the door is ajar for more nonsence. Geez I hate the AFL.

Nick Pane QC argues Hawkins "clearly has a clenched fist" and makes a "forceful swinging motion" with the intention of delivering a strike.

He is gone me thinks

How can you possibly explain hiting him with one arm,not two to tackle, not to get the ball,as it was blooming 60 metres away.
