I'm calling it now ... the mighty Richmond Football Club will win B2B flags in 2020
With the list RFC has there is no reason why the Tigers can't improve on this year's efforts and set an even higher standard for themselves and the competition.

Amazing to think Rance, Stack, Graham, Ross, Higgins and KMac could all come back in and then you ad the natural improvements of Eggs, Naish, RCD, CCJ ,Balta, Turner, incredible situation to be in.

Lots can happen but gee whiz it’s a good place to start

From what Cotch said today at the family day at PRO, sounds like he and the Club are already casting their mind to the future and how they can build on the foundations of what they have laid. Reckon the skipper has the desire to see another premiership cup or two on the shelf before he hands over the captaincy reigns to the next Tiger great.

Exactly what I was thinking. We know how hard it can be to find avenues of motivation for human beings.
To have the challenge of back to back (first time since the 1970's) premierships thrown in front of them might just be the spark the group need.
I have no doubt that the fact we had 6 new players in this team that didn't play in the 2017 Premiership also helped. That's a 3rd of the team that are chasing something that the other 16 already had. I reckon this is a driver for them.
Changes in next years team can only help to achieve a famous B2B.

Hawthorn's 3 peat still amazes me. I think it's totally possible with this group.

I know there are 3 certainties for the RFC in 2020.

We will be death ridden all season.

We wont play the Suns at the G (unlike the skunks)

We wont play the Kangas at the G (as we dont every year)

Agree. had similar thoughts after the Cats game. As mentioned in another thread the betting markets are nervous even on a 3 peat ! I placed bets for B2b & 3Peat.

Just imagine the Tiges can emulate what the MFC achieved from 1955 to 1964 or the HFC in the 1983 to 1991 constantly in GFs
I too truly believe with such a tight knit young group we are seeing the start of a successful dynasty

We can't get ahead of ourselves too much but we have a current group and nucleus of a team in waiting so no reason whey we wont be the ones to beat again. The other clubs will now have to study our latest game plan and copy it to try to succeed whilst we come up with a better plan again

We won 50 years after 1967 & 1969 triumphs. Can we win next year 100 years after our first in 1920? It's obviously a huge possibility

between 1967 and 1974 we won four flags and had one stolen(72). Between 2017 and 2024 five flags would be the go.

back to back will be very difficult, however, I feel we have another two premiership in the next 5 years.

In the 40 years that I’ve been a supporter, this is by far the most confident and bullish I have been of sustained success.
Listening to Cotch and Peggy speak at today’s family day, it was very apparent that as a collective, the club is hungry in its pursuit more Premiership success.
We are in for a few more good years!

Heard his comment, make no mistake this is a driven group & they are not happy with settling for what they have achieved thus far, they are hungry for more as we saw by them never letting up yesterday.

Oooooh nice. Happy anniversary again next year, think i could manage to enjoy that. A centenary celebration instead of just a golden anniversary.

I'm really liking this attitude also.
Reckon the boys will celebrate heartily their achievements this year, but will then knuckle down to a hard pre-season in readiness for the assault that will come their way in 2020.
Seventeen other teams will hunt them as per 2018, particularly as RFC is now considered the real deal and the blueprint for a successful team and club.

Bullarto on hearing Cotch on Game Day , he said similar about coming back to work after a short break and get back to business .

The great Leigh Matthews was actually impressed by Cotchin's response that he asked him straight back , no break, and Cotch replied , well a few weeks then back to it.

The skipper wants more and upon hearing Dimma & then Balme its on the cards to aim that high again.

Only complacency can stop this group.

There is still another on the table.

The key thing that I loved from yesterday's game, they never let up till the end. They were enjoying it. That hunger of ruthless attack I enjoyed watching when I was young. They also played as a united team full of support of each other. Woah factor.

So damn happy to have that happy fuzzy feeling again. Its different to 17. That media/tv hatred by all the flogs only reinforced my view that RFC have built something very special. Any indirect(by suggestion) or direct negativity was like water of the duck's back.

To those flogs you can all GAGF ! The sleeping giant is awake and dancing in the streets. Suk it up !
