#55 - Brisbane Lions - Dyson Hilder
North Adelaide/South Australia | Key Defender
31/03/2001 | 196cm | 91kg

Had to look through the players selected to see if i had missed this kid.

There are not too many readymade key defenders in this AFL Draft, which makes Hilder a unique prospect for clubs. If an AFL club is contending and needs a key position player who is more prepared to tackle senior footy earlier in his career, then Hilder looms as a value mid-draft option. Hilder has experienced all three levels of SANFL football this year, with eight games at Reserves level his predominant grade. He was as reliable as they came for South Australia at the national carnival, and is a nullifying defender who can take an opposition forward out of the game, averaging almost five marks from 12.5 disposals per game at the championships.

I’ve talked him on here and forget all about him. Would’ve jagged him with the Hawks pick.

Great write up on each Tiger I enjoyed it mate. The only observation I will make is that the players here are too tall on average. We love to draft sub 180cm players. Hence we are always shorter than the opposition.

Pick 61 - Essendon: Jai Jackson
East Fremantle/Western Australia
185cm | 80kg

Jackson is a big-bodied inside midfielder who has the capability to push forward where he can be a threat.

Hahaha

I was surprised he was still on the board and had to check a few times (you really need to update the list on page 2 and re post it here)
I found myself extremely compromised as i was selecting for Brisbane with Richmond having the next selection and i rated Hilder higher than Jeka

It would have been so easy to be selfish and give Jeka to Brisbane and take Hilder at Richmond -:(
But i did the right thing and selected Hilder for the Lions

To be honest i really didnt look at their heights a great deal and picked the best available with the first 4 with a slight eye on needs but the last selection was mainly Needs and a need for a KPD and who would be the most suitable influenced me most. Hilder was my choice but that prik selecting for the Lions grabbed him just before Richmonds Pick
