As for the game, I thought the early penalty ruined it.

The early goal should've opened the game up but Spurs never got out of 2nd gear. It was fairly consistent with their last month of footy - they simply ran out of ideas. The chances they did create barely stretched Liverpool (apart from maybe Erikson's free kick) but nothing that lifted the Scousers' heart rate too much.

Of all the chances that missed, Milner's was arguably the best.

Interesting.

Is it too early for him to fill that role?

Theyve burnt through some big names of recent years at Stamford Bridge, not many bigger there than Frank Lampard a favourite son.

Who knows craigo. This is all because he took Derby County into the final Championship League final against Villa last season, even though they did well the season before. Smells like our recruiting of ex-player coaches through the 80s.

Derby overachieved this year. Some parts luck, some parts Lampard & Morris giving youth a go. This is what Chelsea are banking on, given their transfer ban. Plenty of young talent there for new mgt to promote.

Quite a few Chelsea friends over here saying as much as they love Frankie, they feel it's a bit too early for him. Transfer window bans have certainly played their part in his appointment. He will ride through the next couple of seasons and come out smelling rosy, no matter what happens.

Scousers kicked off the EPL season last night with a handy 4-1 belting of newly promoted Norwich.

Good to see the return of one of the Sheffield sides to the top flight with United back, although it looked more likely to be Wednesday for the past 2 years.

West Ham hosting the champs in Man City the early game then the rest roll on.

Liverpool over the last 2 seasons have now played 50 EPL games, and lost just the one game.
An amazing performance when you consider they didn't win the tile last season.

With Jose, it's a given....JM & chairman Levy
both strong willed, have very different transfer philosophies.

Geez, Mourinho? Can't see him and Levy getting on too well after Levy doesn't give him what he wants transfer-wise.
