The Bridget McKenzie scandal.

About 5 sentences on page 4 of the Murdocracy.
What, caught out for pork barreling? So when has that ever been news where politics is concerned? Been going on since I was filling my nappies n it'll never change

Wouldn't be a Victorian labor party left if this was the case, the amount of lying, cheating n stealing they've been doing in recent years.
I couldn’t care less who does it, left right Labor liberal , couldn’t give a stuff. Let’s all condemn it because it needs to stop. The reason it happens is because we say “ the other side does it too” or “ no rules were broken” . Let’s change the rules if that’s the case. We shrug our shoulders and let it continue.
I’m sick of the lot of them. Sen Mckenzie is a good one to start with to make a stand that we are sick of this political BS no matter what Party you are!

They've tried to change the rules a few times. The most recent was just a few months back n done by an independent tribunal. As soon as the Pollies realised that they were gunna miss out on a few holiday perks they chucked a massive tanty n rescinded the tribunals ruling.

There's a simple reason why I stopped voting at any election a long time ago. They're all dodgy shonky pocket pissing scabs n I wouldn't befoul myself picking any of them.

You raise an interesting point TM. In a system with compulsory voting shouldn't there be a "Cheese Sandwich" option? I think there should be. A box you can check to say I am fulfilling my obligation but I don't think any of you deserve a vote.

Great idea, so great that please refer to it as the "Cheese Sandwich©" option

No such thing as compulsory voting with a secret ballot.

What we have is compulsory attendance at the polling booth, you are expected to turn up and get your name ticked off.

No compulsion to actually complete the ballot paper. Effectively you have the cheese sandwich option, just leave it blank, oh and a pithy comment always makes counting more entertaining for those working at the booth, and the scrutineers.

Unfortunately it is now illegal to advertise the fact that you are under no compulsion to fill out the ballot paper. Sometimes I wonder why I bother, safe seat and all, both federally and in the Victorian state elections.

Just one thing though: make sure you return the ballot to the proper box, nothing makes the day longer for poll clerks than missing ballots (always a few, but the less the better). Why make their lives hard? Yes, I used to do this when younger, great student job, a bit of extra cash every election.

I know you are only trying to help but I still like the "Cheese Sandwich©" option. I think it would be interesting to see what politicians would make of having to look at the number of people who would literally rather have no-one than any of them. I know I have voted in elections where that would be my choice.

This would actually achieve something, hence why it won’t be allowed.

With the lack of respect the hypocrites from all parties have brought on themselves, the "Cheese Sandwich" would win the next election.

Now been revealed McKenzie was a member of the gun club she gave 36k to. Of course she hadn’t disclosed she was a member..I don’t see how she survives this.

She survives because she just signed the papers, the whole government was in on it. Unless she agrees to go quietly and we'll see her in some big paying consultant position for a company that is friendly with the coalition.
