You must live in Queensland. Every other state and territory in the country voted for the ALP by a comfortable margin. Only Queensland, where all the papers are owned by Murdoch, voted for the Lying Nasty Parties.

Good idea, getting the book thrown at them. Maybe the AFP could conduct an investig - oh. Never mind.

Corrupt to the core. Another $420 million rort uncovered. Over a billion stolen from the public for Liberal/National Party propaganda now. It's indefensible. Anyone trying to is just blindly barracking for their team. #standbyscummo
Nope, never lived in Queensland old fella.
I actually didnt realise that Labor won everywhere but Queensland. Thats pretty impressive.
Thank god for the banana benders then.
Imagine the country being run by unionists like Victoria, no thanks.

I think what spook has not mentioned they won in most other states on a 2 party system which only included the Libs (and not the Nationals). Once you include the Nationals they only won in the ACT and NT, not in any of the States. I don't vote (Aussie resident not citizen yet) but thought I'd correct. (I've assumed he is talking popular vote here)

Popular vote Labor lost to the Coalition by about a million - 5 mill something vs 4 mill something.

I figure Spook is talking 2 party preferred, a reasonable measure with preferential voting.

I haven't seen the figures but I'm pretty sure Labor won Vic on 2 party preferred.

I'm talking that the LNP won 23 of 30 seats in Qld. Outside Qld, Labor won 61 seats to the Coalition's 54.

Just noting the total value of the rorts now exceeds the ABC budget.

So Spook a "criminal" politician trumps a "criminal" unionist just because they won the election!

As i said, if its criminal throw the book at them. I am not supporting them more or less on this situation as I suspect it isnt criminal so nothing will happen, you will just keep saying it is so that you maintain your rage.

So what you are now saying is thst finally some Australians are getting value for money from the Government.
The ABC have become totally irrelevant to a massive portion of tax paying Australians who dont live in the all consuming cities of Melbourne and Sydney and are not preoccupied by, well stuff that doesnt matter.

The ABC is a must for salt of the earth country people, I would go as far as saying, they'd be lost without it.

Yep im serious.
Sure there are parts relevant to us country people. And we dont have much of a choice do we which is why i was particularly hopeful Ita would have changed things up a bit or at least provided 2 sides to the stories and shows they run.
But, there is far (mostly on the TV and internet) more *smile* on it these days which is pure social engineering giving platforms to nobodies who are purely self absorbed that serves no purpose in surviving and making a living on the land other than to alienate and divide us. If you cannot see this you must only listen to ABC radio.

yes, those living in the bush are much better reading about fires in the murdoch press so they know to blame arsonists, then being updated by the ABC.

I watched "The Great Hack" on Netflix yesterday. Gives an interesting overview of the Cambridge Analytica involvement in global elections. One of the most interesting snippets is that the company could only operate in the UK because the technology it was using is considering a military weapon and therefor illegal to export. PsyOps is what they brought from the defence industry to the masses.

It's disturbing to see what they did, are capable of and how effective it is.

Yes ABC radio, Nightlife and Overnights.

Ratings would suggest that people in Melbourne and Sydney don't give a rats about the ABC.

Well then, lets reduce the funding even more, might be able to fund all the sports clubs that applied. :p

Funding will get reduced again, like it always does, even when they promise that it won't (Abbott), and even though you've got Credlin, Bolt, Jones, News Corp to name a few, you'll still carry on about the ABC.

You mean the ABC, which gets more hits on its news now than Murdoch's fake news? Yep, irrelevant, except to most of the population.

As for unionists breaking the law, not hard when the laws are written to specifically target you. For example, a work to rule campaign is defined as industrial action, illegal in the land of the free down under unless you are in a bargaining round. Somehow not illegal for bosses to do what they like.

On one hand they are polling terribly in the cities and on the other they are the more popular channel for hits against a service most people dont buy but controls the Country, apparently.
Wow, David its hard to reason with this kind of comment. Illegal is actually a defineable action not just something to say when you dont like the action.
You sound like a big boy so stop sooking about unionists and how hard it must be for them too you old warfie you.
My unpopular take is this, unions are Victorias second worst legacy to the Catholic Church, their usefulness disappeared decades ago. Neither deserve respect in todays world and are regularly mocked for their failures outside of Melbournes bubble. The ABC is not impartial in regards to social platforms and has lost its journalistic value as a result, in fact they are acting like trumps opponents as well, worry about your own backyard first then you might stand a chance to speak out about others.
