Well I am a little dismayed at the people movement atm. I went out for the first time in almost a week today. Our ceramic bathroom sink smashed to bits yesterday so I went to Ikea in Springvale, quick in and out, to buy a new sink that I found on catalogue. The number of people just roaming around looking at stuff was quite off putting. I understand that by population we still have a small number of corona virus cases but the message clearly hasn't sunk through to a lot of people. I really think these non-critical businesses need to be closed down for the time being. Stick to essential services. People aren't listening.

Over 315 cases of COVID-19 now are from passengers of the Ruby Princess cruise including another 7 today in Adelaide. Unforgiveable that 10 days after passengers departed the ship they are still finding new cases. The number of other people infected must have contributed a lot to the current case count.

theres an article in the guardian today making a case that there will be a textbook written on how not to manage a pandemic and Trumps America response will occupy several chapters. Obviously Italy and Iran will feature.

and there maybe a chapter titled The Ruby Princess

It would be interesting to see the age demographics of Italy and Spain, US too I guess, of the ages of people that required ICU. My understanding is that there are plenty of younger in ICU but they recover. You would assume that without ICU they wouldn't survive.

Apparently, if Twitter is to be believed, about 30 are directly related to Hillsong's little shindig that the PM was keen to allow happen.

Here's one out of UK. Out of 79 who have died 9 were aged between 16 and 49. Interestingly excess weight seems to be a strong contributing factor (hypertension?), over 70% were obese or clinically obese.

This is spot on. Morrison was too slow to shut down travel from the US.

The US is responsible for twice as many imported infections into Australia as any other country.

Our relationship with a Trump led US scares me a hell of a lot more than coronavirus.

I really hope these restrictions don't become an enforced law in future virus outbreaks. This scares me more than the virus itself. "At least 6 months" is simply not on and ScoMo's just playing around with everyone now.

My 77yo Mum has had 2 hip operations and needs to walk to the shops every morning for exercise.

One thing that really gets me is that in late January Australians were returning from Wuhan and were sent to Christmas Island for quarantine.

Then, the government allowed anyone coming in from anywhere else, those on the petri dish of a cruise ship, just come in to Australia and only later did we have voluntary self quarantine.

Only now are people being taken to quarantine if they are coming into the country.

Talking about dropping the ball.
