I'm nervous. I haven't been to a game we have lost since 2016. That includes 5 games so far this year. I reckon my winning streak is under its biggest threat tonight. I've forgotten what its like not to sing the song after the game. Concerned

This is our big test.

West Coast are the benchmark. We don't need to win tonight but we do need to be competitive.

We will learn plenty about our chances for the remainder of the season..

They feed off NitNat, if we can minimise that we will be ok.
We cannot have him get tap outs and then watch him clear the ball.
As soon as he goes and crabs the ball, i expect we will close him down.

Make the tackles hurt.
Big Soldo & Nank crucial here when they can.
Got to not allow him clear follow up to his tap work which is pretty good.

Not confident. At this stage WCE are a better side than us. But the GF is TWO months away so I’m hoping we at least start to rectify issues ie delivery into the F50 and accuracy in front of goals.

Their midfield look really strong & height forward is of real concern to me.

Great kicking side vs kaos kicking/handball game.

NicNat vs Soldo/Nankervis

Jack & Lynch have to make Barrass & Mc Govern accountable.

Ryan vs our smalls.

Which debutant lights it up? Our record with an unknown player doing a number seems to happen to us a fair bit, especially a tall.

Bookies have this wrong. Would have the odds the other way around.

WC 7 wins in a row. 4 day break, travel ,‘sooking’ it up previously. Think these things may not play a part this time around but I’m hoping.

This is an 8 point game.

One team will be sending a message to the competition.

Can’t wait.

All those lucky to be living in QLD and going , enjoy the game, support loud.

We seem to have a fair Tiger supporter base in QLD.

Pumped. Can’t come quick enough this game.

Played in Perth then the weagles are clear favourites but I think being in Qld makes it an even bet.

Agree with others, I think having both Astbury and Broad out means it is much more important that we defend extremely well up the ground. If we can’t control the territory then I think we will struggle to win although I reckon we could be pretty damaging on the break.

I take this game as a free hit where we can hone our game plan ready to possibly meet them in a finals for the first time.

We can win it from 5th if need be.

I have set up our old, small telly next to the newer, better one.

Adjacent fragile items have been removed.

I have placed a brick within reach of my chair.

The old telly will be rendered inoperable if McGovern takes one totally uncontested intercept mark.

If their backs start intercepting stupid F50 bombs, we have learnt nothing.

I hope, however, to be pleasantly surprised.

And to still have a spare telly in working order.

The stillest, warmest (24?) day in a fortnight up here after the coldest night (5).

So i expect it still and chilly and a bit damp tonight back on our home deck, where we havnt played a bad game all year.

Biggest game of the year easily for us and WC been up for a while,

Tigers get it done comfortably i reckon.

Tigers by 27. Jake Aarts kicks 4

One tactic I’d use to try and negate Naitanuis centre bounce influence is to set up our 3 mids defensively, with one moving forward trying to shark Nic Nats tap , would hopefully not let them get easy straight throw release to hit keenedy lace out

I think it would be simpler and more effective strategy for Nank to knee him in the nuts.

Who'd wanna be a ruckman?

Work him over to the point of exhaustion. O'Brien from Adelaide was spot on. He is lazy, unfit and fat.

The game is simple for us if we follow a few things.Delivery in forward 50 to be precise and take McGovern out of the picture and smalls to harass with pressure and tackling when ball brought to ground (my worry all out of form) that goes for all over the ground to pressure the ball carrier.Eagles not great when ball hits the deck that's were we can expose them.Skills need to be spot on.

Looking at there height should be able to cope key is cut supply to them simple as that and force them wide.

Great analysis from Ross Lyon on Footy Classified. Both teams have a stark difference in how they play. We love the chaos/surge forward at all cost play, whilst West Coast are very controlled.

One thing that stood out is that West Coast rarely handball in their back half. Our forward 50 pressure needs to be through the roof tonight. Make them panic. Make them force to handball. Take away their control.

Castagna, Aarts, Rioli will be super critical.

Dont let them set up off defensive 50.

That's my worry smalls aren't doing that through the bread and butter stuff.

remember the Footscray game when we changed our style in the first quarter and bamboozled them? this is what we might need to do tonight... somthing left of field to throw them off their game.

And one thing we definitely can't do is blindly bomb it long.

This is our big test.

West Coast are the benchmark. We don't need to win tonight but we do need to be competitive.

We will learn plenty about our chances for the remainder of the season..

we do if we wanna make top 4. We can't make it if we lose tonight.

The inclusion of Nank is an interesting selection.
Sure, its to give Soldo a chop-out v NicNat, but his selection could also be to provide a goal square presence as part of operation Negate McGovern.
Nank will be underdone so they will have to use him in centre bounces sparingly.
If he spends a fair bit of time stationed in the goal square, he drags one of McGovern or Barass back and out of their preferred interception space across half back.
That also enables Lynch to lead out more rather than be the guy that is mandated to bring the deep high ball to ground, while being triple teamed.
And Jack to get creative in more space.
Our forward line needs more "connection" and Mabs hasn't been providing it of late.
Against WCE's strong defence, we need to perhaps unsettle them with a strong "presence" who can stand under the high ball and wont be pushed around.
Nank's selection could either make us look cumbersome, or work well if he can help invigorate our forward entries.
Going to be interesting.
