re Shane Woewodin, it's amazing what a year under the training guidance of "The Weapon" can do!

I often wonder what was in the drink bottles even back then, particularly with how much size James Hird put on in one pre-season back then, again under "The Weapon's" guidance. The difference for Hird was that the drinking water didn;t give him Golum like feet to carry the extra weight and they kept breaking.

That is pretty disappointing in my opinion. Ok to be disappointed but to be annoyed is ridiculous, the club does not owe him games, he needs to earn it which admittedly is difficult in our established side but he is not owed games and should have to earn them.

If he thinks hes entitled to just walk into the Premier Outfit in the Land then thats poor form and not the expected manner of a Richmond Man.

He's done Sweet FA to date to warrant anything.

He only needs to look at 2 blokes right now that have 2 Premiership Medals that whislt totally deserving may not get a shot at a third this year Broad and Caddy or young Ross and Aarts who missed botth Grand Finals last year but put their bottom lip back in and got on with it., same as Grover.

All these guys are a damn site more deserving of another crack than he is.

Sounds like a sook if thats true.

What has he done to deserve a game? If he had been playing so great then he'd have played ahead others this year

But he hasn't and his form last year on the whole was ordinary.

Footballers want to play. He's a high draft pick who's probably pretty ambitious.
Maybe a little immature. No hanging offence.
Has talent if he keeps working at it his opportunity will open up soon enough.
Coaches have said he's close. he should take their word & double down on a massive pre season.

I agree with this. He hasn't performed consistently enough to warrant selection. I'm always a bit dubious about these long-term prospects. Next year is the year at 21yo that he needs to really push for selection. We have alot of younger potential midfielders than RCD also fighting for their claims.

So he hasn't warranted selection in a dual premiership side at the age of 20 so what, I'm happy to wait on further development and haven't been calling for his inclusion as I think I know what he needs to work on.
Attacking him as a sook and deserving of nothing, (where does that come from?)

It's virtually all this forum does these days. It's pretty sad that in one of the most dominant periods in our history all people want to do is *smile* and moan about the media, umpires and the AFL being out to get us. We also get this bizarre "I'm really disappointed in this player because of some hearsay nonsense".

Enjoy this period while it lasts folks, it won't last forever.

Or maybe it will, hope so

RCD spent 2019 learning how to play centre and to improve his body. Did really well and showed the promise i the VFL grand final. Now in a normal year he could have refined his centreman play mainly in the VFL and maybe had a few runs in the top side.

COVID has rammed that development plan into the ground. I would not be down on him for being disappointed but l am keeping him and seeing what he is made of. Disappointment like this could should lift him.

RCD will be fine, he has a very good attitude despite what the people here would have you believe. Sets a high bar for himself.

Hard to have a written off year so early in his career. Hopefully he can get a run at VFL games and possible senior selection next year. I can understand why he is disappointed.

All players would be pissed with this year no doubt, I am its been a total crock of *smile*, and the fact there is unlikely to be a full VFL next year with AFL clubs not fielding teams its possibly going to be just as bad.

Especially feel for those that are going to lose their places at clubs due to no real VFL comp to press their claims for re signing and there is going to be a shedload of blokes who will be thrown in the bin without a real chance to stake their claim.

Likewise there will be a lot of kids that may have missed their chance to get drafted this year due to no competition to play in and mooted list cuts after it being their primary goal and dream for countless years.

Kids not on the radar that might have had great seasons to elevate them in the eyes of recruiters also many will miss out

The whole year has been a disaster across all levels of footy just as the year has been for all and sundry.

Have heard that there was a block of players who were in the less likely to play basket that the fitness guys put a heap of work into them. Was explained that they were trying to get 2-3 yrs of gym work into them in 1 yr. with the scratch matches not being overly physical they were able to train hard each week. Some names in that group were RCD, Hugo and Naish. I don’t think the year will be a complete waste for guys like RCD.

There was a very positive article about RCD just before the season started, which mentioned his performance in the VFL Grand Final and how good his preseason had been.
If he is disappointed at not getting a game it's understandable, he would have hoped to make his debut this season after not getting a game last year.
