Huge implications for tonight's game.

The loser plays the winner of WCE and Collingwood next week. The winner of that game swaps over in the fixture to play the winner of the Lions and the Tigers in a prelim.

The winner of tonight's game should get an armchair ride to the grand final.

Adelaide forecast: Max 21, Mostly sunny, Chance of any rain: 0%

Saw a remarkable Patrick Dangerfield statistic on Big Footy earlier.

His turnover average goes from 4.7 a game in the H&A season to 7.7 a game in finals.

What's more, he's had 10 or more turnovers just twice in 102 H&A games for Geelong but achieved that milestone four times in the nine finals he's played for the Cats.

That's a bloke who has something to prove tonight.

Despite the home ground advantage for Port, I expect the Cats will simply want it more and will win by plenty.

To me, Cats look to be tapering off at the wrong time.

I'm tipping Port.

Obviously when they sit down to do the AA selection, which some of them expert selectors say is on 'a body of work'.... Dangerfield's body is in the sealed section. .. very rude!

Yes, I know the finals don't come into play for AA, but the real superstars and leaders are those who go to the next level without wilting under pressure!

Hoping for a Port win and then see Geelong out in straights.

What result is best for us tonight?

I think a Geelong win, so that Port lose home grand advantage for a prelim if they make it

If Geelong win, could they choose Adelaide oval to host the prelim? Its a narrow ground like Kardinia pk

We need a Geelong win.
Just for a safety net if we lose, we rather get the preliminary final in Brisbane rather then in Adelaide.
Geelong by 31

50/50 for mine. I think Geelong are a better team than Port, but we know how bad Geelong are after a bye, plus their finals record under Salty Scott since 2011.

What result is best for us tonight?

Probably Port losing, as it'll eliminate any chance of us going to Adelaide.

As much as I despise all things Collingwood a home ground loss for the Eagles would make life in Perth significantly more bearable.

I'm really torn on tonight.
Cats lose and it puts them and their coach under enormous pressure. They could buckle and go out in straight sets. They win and Port loses the home ground advantage.
But then no-one else has to travel to Adelaide either.
I would prefer to play Port in a GF than Geelong.

All I've been hearing of late is ....

Geelong has the best defence
Brisbane's got the best midfield
Port's got the best forward line
West Coast's got the best ruck

Gee we're crap... I long for the day when we're finally good at something!

Who cares all things being equal we have the best TEAM.

Probably the best list of emergencies of all the sides also.
