Time for a little personal redemption come Friday. .... he'd never say it, but I reckon all the *smile* he took from that 2014 final still burns.....!
The only solace for the Tigers coming out of Sunday's debacle at Adelaide Oval – a 57-point loss – was that its execution was swift.

A lot has been written and spoken about Cotch kicking against the wind that day. A friend and his son flew over on the Sunday Morning with Tiger Airlines from the Gold Coast for the game. They get to Adelaide and have a feed and a couple of beers, get to the ground and were surprised to be around a heap of Tiges supporters, beautiful, couple more beers. Anyway come the end of game he has had more then enough of the Tiges and port ferals, in his words"I was *smile* shittie". At the airport he spots Dusty and Rancey sitting away from the main group, he said to his son "I am going over to ask them who's bright idea it was to kick against the wind", son cringes, no dad, but off he goes. "Hey boys who’s *smile* dumb idea was it to kick against a howling wind", Dusty and Rancey both point to Dimma, it was not Cotch's decision at all. So he high tails it to the bar with his teeth still in his head and has more grog but he doesn’t realise Tigers are strict if you are late to the gate, they were 5 minutes late . Anyway after a good blue with the airlines staff they watch the plane fly into the night sky. He said to his son”let’s go and find a motel and get a flight tomorrow”, his son replies “I need to be on that flight dad, I have my Year 12 English Exam tomorrow at 9.00 am". Classic. Lucky he has a very understanding wife.
