Higgins is a good player but has limitations and suspect the club weren't too fussed with him leaving.

lack of burst and speed, and his kicking is weak. some other kids can fill the void and get the experience at the same time.

Once he decided to leave reckon the club didn't really try to change his mind.

For mine Markov is the bigger loss - his speed and kicking is up to standard and could have cemented a spot in the back half giving us more options with baker and short
Spot on ..This !!!!!!

Best of luck to him. I still can’t see this trade hurting us at all. Even if he is successful at the Saints, he doesn’t have the speed or the kicking skills to be dangerous in our gamelan. I’m happy to stick with the rest of the list.

Otrens was a star with us.
Till he forked himself. He just wanted another 50k instead of the 280k they offered him, he wanted 330k. Geelong got him for 350k and he never looked back.
His 2001 season (watch the dvd) was the best he played, he was unbelievable.
Plus he was a top bloke too. Always went out his way do say hello. Not like ball slappers like Campbell
Ottens was a great bloke. He signed my tit once after a Sydney game. I couldn't put it away for the whole night to the dismay of the oldies in proximity. I don't think they liked the proportions of my areola.

My advice to a young guy would always be to take the money when it's on offer. Success and premierships are great for us supporters but those guys need to make a living while they can.

i believe the club is not that disappointed that Jack left.
The only player this year I get the impression the club is somewhat disappointed in losing is Oleg because of the rapport he's built within the club

Oleg and Soldo were having a beer in the rooms after the gf. They both looked in great spirits. Oleg seemed to be a great clubman. I'll be praying for a more robust houli calf next season.

Oh Come On! Just one more year to honour his contract, how hard can that be? he keeps saying Dimma is a great coach and the players are most welcoming. Sorry but you have lost me. Normally I would take an interest in ex players in opposition teams, but I won't with Higgins. He just sold us!
Fair points, No.4.

Higgins isn't the first and won't be the last to request a trade while still under contract.

I do think with the way the club stood by him during his illness and recovery that he should have stayed, but I also think his opportunities at the Tigers, and therefore his trade value would reduce over 2021.

I'm of the view that once a player has asked for a trade we might as well work towards getting him where he wants, but as long as the trade is fair to us. If the player doesn't want to be there and you force him to stay, how good/committed is he going to be? Might as well let him go and create a list spot for someone who really does want to play for us.

An armchair in Sydney
Don't worry about me lads, I'm untouchable.

I drive a car powered by my own sense of self satisfaction.
I've got a similar car Richo

But mine has the word "Datsun" written along one side with red crayon scrawled over the top spelling out "Mustang 5.8L"

And it's powered by an overwhelming sense of missed opportunities and vague memories of girlfriends from when I was in my late teens and early twenties.

I have not taken it too lightly with Higgins going (previously posts). Watching the behind the scene celebrations by the boys on Saturday night grand final, guess who was front and centre in most of the clips? Higgins! Just one more year Higgins, why leave?

He wanted out ......doesn't want to be at the club anymore then ta ta.

Easily influenced from outside the club the kid I reckon he had someone in his ear helping to turn his head.

Its moot now he's gone and we've got 3 very exciting prospects as of right now for 2021.

Daniel Rioli, Sydney Stack, hopefully both fit focused, and firing and then of course another Rioli....class.

Throw in Caddy, Aarts, Ross, Dow, Martyn, Ralphy, and RCD and weve got Jack's exit well and truly covererd.

He probably made the right decision to go tbh.

Not too smart little Higgo

Wants to play in a premiership after missing out last 2 years ( 2017 brain surgery & 2020 calf injury and couldnt get back)
then selects St Kilda who have only won 1 premiership in 100 years by 1 point.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out son

He was in our best and kicked 2 goals in the 2018 prelim loss to Collingwood. Would he have been dropped for the GF had we won?
