After the legal team in PA quit, the Trump case was being run by a divorce lawyer. Now she's quit, and it's being run by a part-time lawyer/radio show host.

They had a big "emergency meeting" of the legal team at the WH today - MAGAs were saying they are going to drop bombshell information that will blow the election wide open, around the supposed Dominion election machine hacks and Chinese interference, bla bla bla. Won't happen. I imagine the meeting was primarily so that some people could yell at other people.

Meanwhile cases/deaths continue to increase, people are in fistfights on the streets, and Trump waves at idiots from the motorcade on his way to golf each day.
Trump has been derelict in his duty when it comes to Covid, he hasn't met the coronavirus task force for months. The death of tens of thousands is on him. He should be jailed for inaction on Covid.

Will Trump pardon his family and cronies in his final days as president?

I sort of get US president's being allowed to pardon people who have already been prosecuted, but I absolutely don't get how pardons can be given before a charge has even been laid. Only in America.

Yep, just sad examples of the worst President ever and how far down the toilet the GOP have descended to keep humoring him.

The only reason Trump keeps pushing the legal line, despite knowing it will get nowhere, is to extract as much $$ from his MAGA supporters as possible His campaign continually bombard his supporters asking for donations to fight the legal battle. There is a small footnote stating some of the donations will also go towards his campaign fund.

It's nothing more than a rort at the moment.

A forum is old-school social media.
Perhaps there should be a maximum number of users per forum. It needs to be a number that will reduce the risk of numpties finding each other and developing echo chambers for conspiracies and the like.

Even though 70 million voted for Trump, the GOP only have one question to ask themselves...
Can we win re-election in 2024 or beyond, if only our current GOP supporters vote for us?
We know the answer, but they won't acknowledge reality...yet. Every election, no matter which country you choose, is decided by the swinging voters or others changing their traditional allegiance. How many swinging voters do they expect to win over next time while they allow this petulant fool to control the narrative?
The GOP must face reality and understand the damage being done to their brand by this continued public support of Trump by the WH staff, all of their outspoken lawyers, etc. Just madness and political suicide.

Although lining his pockets is a big part of it, I still think his hubris wants his lunatic fringe supporters beginning a civilian revolt. They will call It civil war. But it will be nothing more than domestic terrorism.

My fear was faithless electors flipping the electoral votes. But the Republican leaders in four critical states say they won’t flip their state’s electors to vote for Trump.

However domestic terrorism is a very real threat as Trump continues to sulk and stir his lunatic following.

The irony of having election machines is that they are just so much easier to hack than a paper ballot. You want to add a couple of million votes on a machine, you can do it in minutes. Paper ballots are far more secure.

Plus, many of the voting machines in the USA are ancient and not well maintained. Wouldn't be hard to find errors, but likely way less than Trump needs.

Of course, if they invalidate the votes in the election for the Electoral College, then I figure they would need to invalidate all the elections further down the ballot. In fact, another irony is that they may not find enough errors to invalidate the Electoral College vote, but it might be enough for some elections with smaller electorates like State seats and the like.

What a S***show the US elections are. Most poor countries do a far better job of well run elections.

Interesting isn’t it. If he does pardon his cronies before a charge is laid, he’s basically admitting a crime has in fact been committed hasn’t he? Not that he or his hangers on seem to care what others think. Theories are going around that he would step down as president, allowing Pence to become president for long enough to pardon him because apparently a president can’t pardon themselves. Fanciful and far fetched I know, but I wouldn’t put anything past this shyster. One thing he is good at is using laws and loopholes to avoid responsibility. I did read that pardons are only valid for federal crimes. If he does decide to use presidential pardons, I really hope states go all out and charge him and his gang of frauds with everything under the sun

Ford pardoned Nixon in advance for any potential crimes related to Watergate.

The interesting part is McConnell blocked a number of bills regarding lifting the minimum standards for voting machines whilst simultaneously taking money from machine lobbyists. The GOP is the hypocrisy party.

I unfriended an acquaintance on fb today. She was arguing black and blue that trump was the chosen one. I've had run ins with her previously regarding 5g and other covid conspiracies. The trump one was the last straw. I feel liberated my feed will be clean tomorrow. How and why is this trump scenario playing out? Is this the manifestation of larger problems afoot? I reckon we start by killing social media.

Check out The Social Dilemma on netflix if you get a chance. It explores and explains this issue well

Being old enough to remember the first internet browser and reading Tim Berners-Lee, I thought the internet would free information and bring knowledge, wisdom, education and justice for all. Looking back on my younger self I can only say
