Re-watch the Port game. That was the game that massively exposed his weaknesses. Was caught HTB numerous times due to lack of awareness and definitely squibed 2 or 3 contests. He was horrible in that game, not sure whether you would throw him out after that game but it sure highlighted in bright neon lights what his weaknesses are.
disagree. The game was hotter than most, higher, finals-like intensity, he wasn't quite at the level, its a fine line for a player of his type. I rembember having exactly the same thoughts as you after a game by Cogs against the dogs years ago. He'd been good, first few games, first hot game he looked terrible, just a split second off, its all part of the learning process.

You might be right, but just making the point its a pretty routine trend in a lot of good players development.

I'm not saying throw him away just because of it, and I'd probably agree fully if it was just getting caught with the ball a lot more, but he didn't get anywhere near the team for the rest of the season (but that may have been because he came back to VIC, I heard his partner was having a baby?).

Could potentially get another year, reckon 1 or 2 of Garth, Miller and Egg will get another year but I doubt all 3 will, particularly on the main list.

Yeah, was ordinary that game but I don’t think it was career ending. I’m hoping he stays on the list. I like him, he’s got flaws but they can be addressed. Anyway, Many thought Bach was soft til the last few years..

Remember the weaknesses in Shorty's game a couple of seasons ago? Just look at him now, the complete footballer and being recognized as such all around

Just bloody shocked myself. Checked out the AFL club delistings for this year, it looks like half the clubs are stripping their lists back to the bone this year.
#lonorf heads the race by delisting / retiring 13 players but there's plenty of others chopping out ten to twelve players this year. Some serious dunny brush work going on at a few clubs.
So far we've only got Lego, Higlet, English n Turner off the list n I'm assuming Trossman goes off as well for a grand total of five gone. Not sure exactly how many we are supposed to be removing to make way for at least our first rounder, MoJo n perhaps someone else.

Carlton have delisted Matt Kennedy, Harrison Macreadie, Cam Polson and Callum Moore and Fraser Phillips but have committed to rookie drafting Kennedy back.

Have to be Garth and / or Dekka if we do.

Interesting re Egg as he won the TV for BOG against the Kangas but had a softness to his game exposed this season.

Be interesting to see if the club thinks its a terminal deficiency.
I dont think he has what it takes to make it either. When games are close he goes missing. Too soft and gets caught too often.

I thought he lacked the conditioning to back up week on week..maybe I'm romanticising his performances, but I didn't think he was soft or a squib, just more he didn't have gas in the tank to last a game if it was physical.
He got physically beaten up against Port and was dropped immediately after that game. Great skills but needs to harden up

Some thought the same of Shorty. He’s certainly found his inner “Chuck Norris”
Difference with Short is that he is quick and urgent and never got caught holding the ball. Eggs has poor awareness and lacks urgency and speed, hence gets caught alot. Has elite kicking but seriously doubt he can make the grade unless he vastly improves his awareness and urgency.

I think shorty circa 2017 is a perfect analogy for eggs 2020.

Incredible toolkit, improvable deficiencies.

Id spew if we delisted eggs.

He looked mega composed and sublimely skilled when he won the TV

He’s a premiership Hero. One of those guys you really wished became successful at another club.

I reckon half our best 22 wouldnt be successful at other clubs.

Actually, all our best 22 couldnt be successful at other clubs,

Cause RFC has a mortgage on success currently.
