If true im happy for Towno

Kid deserves to have a 10 year career
Just wish he came back to our VFL side but if you had a chance to continue your AFL career , why not! The difference in $ would be significant.
Building a nice Tiger support class. That’s 5 the past three years now.

As much as I’m sad he didn’t return I wish him all the best if he gets a lifeline with the Suns.

Good luck to Towner, it's great that there's still a need for a heart and soul player, he deserves more time in the "Sun".

Good luck to him, but i wonder if picking up a player who has been delisted 3 times by other clubs, averaging under 7 games/year across his 9 years on lists, was what the AFL had in mind when they gave the Suns the extra spots on their list?

That makes 5 ex Tigers the Suns have picked up in recent yeats, Miles, CEllis, BEllis, Markov and now Townsend.
We only have Prestia, Caddy and Lynch. looks like they owe us a couple.
Maybe just B. King and we call it square?

Looks like the sycophant Suns are trying to establish as many connections to the AFL’s most successful club as possible.

Good strategy for them, and good for us if they keep favouring us during this development farm phase they’re trying to grow out of.

We seemed to have a good relationship with Hawthorn when they were on top.
It’s certainly a better approach than Essendon’s “screw everybody“ approach.

I think he’ll do better there than at Tullamarine. He can toughen them up a bit and provide some of their young blokes with protection. He’s light on for skill, but we know he won’t take a backwards step.

Essendon played him mostly as a tall forward because they had no-one else (13 contested marks in 8 years, then 11 this year). He should get the role he's suited to at the Suns. Glad to see him picked up.

Think Suns are wasting their time with Townsend. He had a little purple patch in 2017 which resulted in him playing in premiership. Don't think's he's quite up to AFL standard but hope he proves me wrong at Suns.

It feels like it’ll be a bit of waste of a list spot (but the GCS get 49 so....). You know he,ll play there one season for 3 or 4 games.
