Interesting the amount of Geelong supporters I’ve spoken to who have said something along the lines of ,

Even though we were in front , never felt comfortable,

Feared Richmond would come at us hard at some stage and we might struggle to cope when it happens
I don’t know how to put this in words without sounding arrogant because it’s not meant to be, but I’ve felt the reverse since around 2018. Whenever we are behind in any game, even by 5 or more goals I’ve never felt like we are out of it. Most times my confidence is justified. It’s a good feeling to have after decades of wondering how are we going to stuff up this lead.

Late in the second quarter of last year's GF my tiger supporting mate text that he was getting worried. Text back that we were 21 points down in the prelim against Geelong at half time in 2019 and not out of it and not to worry.

Martin then kicks that goal and everyone believed and it was joy all round.... well at least for those in yellow and black

Winning 11 of our last 13 finals , a success rate of 85 % , will do that to you :)

This period of success is all the more sweet that we have been able to beat Geelong in a GF.

What final do we still need to beat them in? Elimination Final? Rather not finish 5-8 but if we do, it would be nice to meet Cats

Who do we want to beat in the next GF?
Geelong was a sweet win indeed.
Collingwood is my obvious choice, I would take Essendon and Carlton in a heartbeat if they were likely good enough to get there.

Yep, all of them, Port by a point would be good too.

The great Tiger team of 73 / 74 was the same. If they were within 4 to 5 goals at the last change, more often than not they ran over the oppo team in the last quarter.

West Coast would be good, but that'd mean they pass the semi final stage

My Dad said he was like that about us in the 70’s. Confident that even if we were down, we’d find a way to turn it around and run out winners. We had Royce back then, now we’ve got Dusty.

Geelong are still looking for number 32, he was last seen just before half time in last year's Grand Final.

Probably hanging our drinking with my bosses... Yep!.... If we lost that one, I had over-payed, overvalued smug management to deal with for a year as we are based in GEElong. Amazing how quick they shut up. I said nothing.

My Smirk will keep me going.
