And Lynchy doesn’t forget. Sits him square on his arse in the 2019 PF when Prestia puts through the sealer.
I reckon our guys were fed up with him after his diving antics right on half time in that game, Dusty shoved him in the centre just after it (would love to know what he said to him). Lynch sitting him firmly on his ass as the sealer was kicked was poetic justice.

I am. He owes us another 3 weeks for knocking out Vlastuin
Do we have an almost retired Jonny Howat equivalent we can bring in to extract the payment? Could we emergency rookie Jake King and send him out? Could we stick a bib on Howat and send him out Jonny Barnes style?

Could be onto something with the Jake King idea. Maybe reactivate Morris for a week.

Riewodlt was the only current player to go against the grain and say that Dangerfield deserves a suspension.
By the looks of it, there's no love lost between us and Geelong.
Good on Jack. *smile* him

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if Tigers players are dirty on him for floss.

Saw the down the ground vision last night for the first time, also taking out the fact it’s PD , I think with the modern rules he’s lucky he didn’t get another week , imho he launches into Kelly, it was a bump/collision trying to hurt, no I don’t think in anyway he tried to hit his head, however he definitely tried to crunch the rib cage ....karma I say

Yeah I agree. .... if you watch his action, clearly he launches at the last moment to create maximum impact, so this notion proffered by some that he went the bump and it's purely accidental is complete bs imho.

As for the perception of a pile-on regarding Dangerfield, I can only speak for myself and what pisses me off about him and these last 2 incidents is his complete disregard for the blokes that he's cleaned up after the event and I'm not sure I've ever heard any public statement from him wishing them well either.

On sen this morning saying accidents happen on the footy field and his only option was to brace for contact. Still won't own it.

People say the bump is dead. Watch how stack pickett and edwards execute the bump. Aim for the body and ensure the head is well away from the opponents head. There's technique involved. Stagerfield just ploughed into his opponent like a runaway train.

And stacky and shed do it when the opponent has possession.

And they don't serially stage for frees...

I think Dangerfield is one of the most disliked individuals in footy. I don't know a single fan of AFL who likes Dangerfield, unless they barrack for Geelong.

So you don't think players try and create maximum impact when they bump? You don't think Stack was trying to hurt Viney? Did Stack go back and check on his welfare or send him a text after the game? Does Pickett not aim for maximum hurt when he bumps? What about Lynch? Its a physical sport.

So is it OK to clean someone up as long as you show care after the event?

Personally I still want to see our players inflicting maximum physical hurt wherever possible. Dangerfield deserved his right whack, he got it wrong, he left his feet and went too high which brought into play the head clash.

Kelly was exposed because of the situation,. I suppose its a personal thing as to whether you endorse him being legally hurt. If clanger went slightly lower and got him in the ribs and broke his ribs what would the opinion be then?

I don't think there was an outcry on here when Cotchin concussed Shiel in the 17 prelim, reality is he cannoned into Shiel, hit him in the head and arguably should have been suspended if you take your richmond hat off. He wasn't, essentially because it would mean he would miss a GF. Yes the ball was there but reality is Shiel played the ball and Cotchin used the opportunity to inflict maximum physical damage on him. Watch a replay and see Cotchin go low and launch into Shiel whose hands were on the ball. Cotchin's first objective was not the ball. Even though he went low he got him in the head and forced him out of the game. Judged on todays criteria that is a suspension.

The game has changed. If you want a game where players try to inflict maximum physical hurt on the opposition, I suggest you take up UFC. It's no longer part of Australian Rules Football.

As for the Cotchin reference, I don't see how it's valid to Dangerfield. The ball was being contested. You claim Shiel had his hands on it but that would have been a split second before Cotch and Shiel didn't have control of the ball. Cotch's eyes at all times were on the ball, he never deviates to look at where his opponent is and line him up. Cotch's forward motion is directly at the ball. Yes there was contact but again both players heading for the ball. After the hit Shiel is nursing his shoulder. Dave Astbury gives Shiel a decent hit not long after which is just as likely to have caused any concussion. So in summary, nothing at all like the Dangerfield hit over the weekend.

You are only talking about technique here, no mention of intent. The ball was well and truly gone, it was late, that is the fundamental point, the flawed technique is the secondary point. There is no comparison with the Stack and Edwards cases on either point.

I have no doubt General , personally didn’t mind him early on and admired him as a footballer, however it appears I’m with the general footy public in our dislike for one the footballer and 2 the person , appears to become more and more smug and self righteous each season and dare I say a tad more salty

Interesting you mention Shiel and Viney who's first reactions were to grab at their collarbone/shoulder region, whereas the last two blokes Dangerfield has 'bumped' into have been incapable of standing.
Point of conjecture regarding Shiel is that he was on the field long after the Cotchin incident and was also caught high by Astbury during that period.
Anyway, I feel for Pat and how he thinks he's been treated like a murderer..... he should call Tom Lynch and ask him how he coped with the unrelenting bull *smile* he endured lastyear!
