You didn't need to enter your member barcode for this game. And you didn't need your RFC account. book everything via the Ticketek app.

I have "Access Tiger Home and Away membership" which entitles me to all Richmond home and away games in Melbourne. Since I've paid for these games already I really don't want to have to pay again for another ticket.

Edit: although even with a home membership I still got stung for another $18 to get a seat at the top of level 4 for the Carlton game. If this rort keeps up I'll be cancelling my membership and telling the club why.

That doesn't sound right, you should ask the club about that.

Watching the game again I cant help but think that I don't think there has been a better performing defence ever in VFL/AFL. I reckon it's better functioning now than even when Rance was playing. Grimesey, DTLD and Balta have the perfect blend of defence and offence. Broady with the ability to play either defensively or offensively. Even Shorty and Bakes take intercepts as well as hurt you on the rebound.

I can't see how we win 3 premierships in 4 years without this group and we would never contend for another premiership without them, especially with the new rules.

Is that just a general admission membership?
With all this Coroner cooties crap going on. Everything at the footy is reserved seating whether we like it or not.
Premium seats are mega extra, decent seats are about $40 extra n mediocre seats are I guess $18. Do believe ya can get really crappy seats at the back of the nosebleeds or tucked away in obscure corners for nil extra charge, but nobody really wants to sit in them while the stadium is half empty so get sucked into paying extra.

It is general admission membership, so no ballots/allocated seats. You enter your barcode on the site and it "unlocks" a choice of seats on ticketek ... but these all tend to involve an "upgrade" which of course means more $$. Really hard to find a seat that is not an "upgrade".

I won't even go into my ticketek login/password issues :)

The attendance of 41,000 today was much less than I expected.
I think this new process of purchasing tickets is having a negative impact.
Supporters of the away clubs just don't seem to make an effort to come to games.
Having said that the Dawks supporters didn't really turn up today either.

Otherwise, are people still apprehensive about venturing out in large crowds?
Was it the 1.10 starting time on a Sunday which kept people away?

Interested in other thoughts and opinions on this.
Booking several days ahead for a home and away game is a deterrent.

And I would go 50% of games with friends who barrack for other teams so getting together with them and organising seats depends on their membership etc..

However if the afl can find a away to make money from 100 % reserved / booked seating, no walk ups they will. This could be the future.

We certainly have the personnel back there, but they get helped by the defensive work rate of the guys up the field too. We play total defence, it is a thing of beauty.

McIntosh, Pickett, Graham, Caddy, Nank, Cotchin, Bolton, Edwards, Riewoldt, the list goes on. I would think they would all be in the elite defensive category for their positions in the competition. I think Lynch is probably the only one who isn't.

OMG I hate passwords. When I get my tickets on the Richmond app it asks me if I want to link to my Ticketek account. I decline every time. Can’t deal with the stress of trying to remember another *smile* password ha ha!

You should have access to some free seats, but not sure where they would be. My away game access is GA and there were some free seats available for the Hawthorn game, I just like being at ground level so paid. That said, the upgrade was $18 from memory.

Passwords are a pain. At work we now have 1 password for a multitude of systems. Probably more secure than when we had so many passwords just about everyone had a list on their desk. We do have to change the password every 3 months though. I have variations on the same base password but even that can be hard to keep up with.

You must choose GENERAL SEATING to get free seats. Ticketek are sneaky, they put this down below (see my screenshot), for the swans game just scroll down and click on general seating which more times than not is on level 4. Best available seats etc are upgraded and will require extra payment but more likely to be on levels 1, 2 or 2A which is (level 3)

I’m going against the grain here... I loved the 1:10 start, worked great with the young fella .... drove and parked in the city, got a reasonable relaxed lunch in town, doddled out on metro, watched the match and then home comfortably in time for family dinner.... worked a treat.
I am all for 1.10 for Sunday. Home before dark in winter.
2.10 Saturday.... Always a few more things to get done Saturday mornings.

Yeah, they are sneaky indeed. Thanks Astute. Now I just need to get my password woes sorted out.

Are you sure you are navigating Ticketek correctly? Some sections of L4 are GA and some sections are reserved.

Same thing hapenned to me last time. Was too worried about just getting tickets rather than where they were. This time, went on and went to the general admission section (very well hidden by Ticketek may I say?) got level 2 wing seats for free!
