The sycophantic way the panel were pumping him up as this incredible waste of coaching talent, all based on the fact he told Gawn to stick it up 'em before the game
I took NR's reaction as more of a tongue-in-cheek pisstake than a pumping up.

Went Whoosh! in Lyon's eyes though.

So they're advocating for taggers/dribblers to take down the stars now. Or is it just Dusty?

Wait until July when the kids have run out of legs and the game's a slog again.

Lyon was crapping on about how much he enjoyed watching Lachie Neale get tagged, seriously, how much he enjoyed watching a bum player scrag a good player!
This really annoys me, last week Healy just about wet his pants about how good round one was, he and Lyon were taking credit for it saying this is what we have been calling for.
In the next breath and for the rest of the week Lyon called for Dusty to be scragged, and then as you said, last night he said how much he enjoyed Neale being tagged. I wonder whether he thinks that it's a good look, and good for the game.

Just the players on teams that are winning ie not their players, on their teams, that they follow.

Yeah NR does a reasonable job of bulldozing a change of subject when Lyon is flogging one of his dead hobby horses. You can tell he thinks GL is a buffoon when it comes to analysing the game.

Dont they get that plugger lockett and buddy franklin got tagged every single game of their career and still managed over 2000 goals?

That tagger from Geelomg got plaudits from the media for his job on Neale but a lot of the tactics and close checking seemed against the rules to me.

Yep was absolutely cringeworthy.

I struggle to accept him as the mouthpiece for "Time to Talk" and espousing everyone to look after their mates. Was he looking after his best mate when he was *smile* his wife?

He is the biggest fraud going around.
I get your point but there are bigger frauds in our game. that can do some real harm. The top brass at AFL house among them. Gary Lying is like the GF sprint - irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

To be fair, who here hasn’t tripped over and accidentally stuck their *smile* in their best friends wife?

Tony Lockett spoke for 20 sec about Frawley and everyone was hanging on every word. Lyon blathered on for 2 min and I could barely understand the point of the game.

Great point. I didn’t realise holding the jumper, stopping a player whilst not facing the ball was part of the rules. A genuine tagger also tries to get his hands on the footy.

None tags Melbourne players because they tag themselves out of games.
Listening to Lyon is like listening to Libba talk about football.
Absolutely clueless

You're not seriously suggesting that Holding the Man is still a rule in Australian Rules Football I hope. Clearly that rule must have been rescinded years ago because players not in possession of the ball are constantly held.
