Yeah its surprising when people are surprised with the amount of top 10 picks they have in their team, especially in the midfield.
And how many rookies and Pre season picks did we have tonight? Makes me proud. Whatever the story is from here we couldn’t have asked for more

We were beaten by a younger faster more committed team tonight. It's the way of the AFL that sides eventually pass you. We couldn't have asked for more over the last four years. Without Dion tonight and with Dusty out we looked pedestrian in the midfield. I hate to say it but age might finally be catching up with Cotch.

Just realised the last time I saw us lose a game whilst being at the ground was back in the early stages of 2019 against Geelong.
Losing sucks especially against Melbourne.
Their supporters are horrible.

Okay so we’re 6 games in. One great win against the Saints and a very good effort against Port away where we just failed to get over the line; probably should have won. Two mediocre wins against rubbish opponents. Plus 2 really poor showings in beltings on our fortress home ground from teams we would handle comfortably if we were near our best.

There’s a long way to go but I have some concerns about our hunger, skill level, ball use and pressure. Our forward line is abysmal. Jack is going okay but disappeared after quarter time; he’s no spring chicken. Who’s the young key forward coming through the ranks? Lynch is horrible at the moment. Slow as a set week and couldn’t mark a beach ball. $1m a year mate you’ve gotta take some contested marks. Tom *smile* McDonald can do it!! Our small forwards are a non entity. Aarts is too slow and I feel not quite up to the level. Rioli gives us very little; nothing like the player he was in 2017. Castagna’s pressure is non existent. The ball hit the ground tonight and all 3 of them may as well have been sitting in the stands with us. Demons just ran it out with ease time and again. The midfield looks slow and disinterested. Exposed badly in Swans and Demons games.

There is still plenty of time for us to get our season going but we need to start banking wins. But I haven’t been impressed by what I’ve seen overall in the first 6 weeks. It feels a bit different this year.

Come on Tigers lift!!

he also does the same great things over and over. One of our best tonight, no doubt.

Yeah, he has a couple of party tricks that get you excited, but then he follows up with his trademark *smile*-ups that cost the team too much.

Doesn’t need to be the end for Richmond. Just think it’s the end for this incarnation of the team.
Tend to agree Lee. There's some players who just aren't up to high pressure football. Aarts is one. I don't want to single him out, as there are others, but we need to regenerate on the run.

Missing Prestia and Vlausin hurts, as everyone else has to step in to fill a void, but 18-26 aren't what they used to be.

Absolutely. It’s just killing us. It’s just look for Jack or Lynch almost every single time. Defenders know where it’s going, spoil, and it hits the ground with numbers and out it comes.

1980’s stuff.
Think that's why they are trying to push Bolton forward more. But we need his creativity in the middle too. I have been a caddy critic but surely he can play fwd pocket and provide some aerial contest or option .. Aarts cannot.

Yes but it is not a cliche.
Players from all sides are often heaped with abuse from unwitting and anonymous fans. It is particularly offensive and I believe racist, when abuse which addresses intellect is addressed to an indigenous player. I don’t say you are a racist but some may wonder.

I'm glad you aren't calling me a racist, because that would be very stupid.

well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. And if you call coming from the clouds to smash an opposition pretty boy who thinks he's in the clear a party trick, well, you have a very different definition of a party trick to me. One of our best tonight, zero doubt.

Great point. Could be the forgotten hero in all of this.
We are now banking our chances on a bloke that just spent a month in jail and has life issues. Come on people. We might just have to start facing the facts that our current group has given us all they could and its time for change. The issue as others have said is that we don't seem to have much to change with atm.

We have to disagree because I have Houli playing a better team game than Pickett.
