3 votes - 'Shy' Bolton.

Seriously say his name correctly already you media types.
SHAI rhymes with HOORAY.

Someone rang up SEN after the footy on Friday correcting this. Whoever was hosting said that the media understand that his mum calls him Shy. BUT HEEEEE calls himself Shay so call him frigging Shay. Dimma called him Shay in his presser too but the media are too dumb to change the way they want to say it.

i reckon he played a bit of George's role this week, and in the last couple of weeks. not the chaos, but the small marking option.
he appears to have been given the licence to fly, and the team appears to look for him in the air.

He will definitely resign because Karl Langdon in his pathetic little column in the Sunday Times (WA) reckons the whisper is he wants to return to WA and play for Freo.

What's so objectionable about that? A club with a rebuilding list would certainly pay 800k and beyond to a 22 year old excitement machine who will lead a midfield for the next 6 years and have every kid wearing his number on their jumper. Clubs like that could offer him 6 million over 7 years comfortably with a front ended arrangement.

And with our list we certainly couldn't match it, if he stays a Tiger it will be for less, at least in the short term.

Yeah you are right around it having to be less to stay. I'd expect if he signs it will be for 3 years. If we drop off a cliff he can walk as a FA and probably go for a lot of money (he'll still only be 25-26) or if we rebuild on the run, a lot of our current stars contracts will have ended and we will be able to pay him a lot more.

If he stays it will be for $600-650k.

Surely he makes more from side deals, by staying in Melbourne. Ralph Carr must have a few things Dustin said no to, that he can offer Shai.

if we win a premiership this year and he stars, I take that any day. Plus 2 first round picks please.

With retirement looming for Houli, Cotch, Dave, and JR8 over the next 18 months there should be plenty of cash for him.

He's better off staying at the Tigers for another 3-4 years, by then he will be able to command crazy money if he's in the very elite in the comp, which he's tracking towards becoming.

Loves the RFC loves Dusty and loves the boys, he's staying for at least another 2 years for mine.

Best part of the S Bolton RFC career is we took him immediately ahead of the Maggots who were red red hot for him.

He was the one they wanted and we stitched em .........delicious.

Figgy would not have got the best from him imo, it took the new RFC and the brotherhood to get him on the right path with the right attitude.

Some tough love and TLC got him going and boy look at him go.

Yep, same here, you'd love to keep him but he will be one of those rare guys who has achieved footy success at a young age, so there's a compelling case for him to set himself up as best he can.

My advice to guys is always take the length of contract and the money when you can get it. You're only ever a second away from an injury destroying your career on an AFL ground and loyalty doesn't pay your bills.
We'd be pretty happy to offer him five years, you'd reckon. He'll get paid.

Ralph will want three to get him to FA.

Our only issue might be because he is so good, so young, teams might be prepared to launch a 7 or more year godfather offer at him.

I know I would.
They might. You'd hope it's not a club that can't afford to pay its own bills, because no matter his genius, it's a big risk in uncertain times.

I can't see how Shai's interests would be better served anywhere other than Richmond at this point. He'll get good money now and more later, while playing for the best and arguably biggest club. Now the nuffies are beginning to learn who he is, we'll see him on a billboard within 12-24 months.
