Ive always been 'if a player or players want to leave the club', you shouldn't stop them.
Essendon fans were losing there nut last November. Having 3 players wanting to leave, Saad fair enough, but Danihiar and Fantansia never played and they were always injuried.
But the 3 kids they have brought in Cox, Harrison and Perkins sets up there future.
I might've hung shiit on Dodoro at the GF, but those 3 look the goods.

Derby at Optus really a powderpuff. Worst in history. Mundy feel sorry for him. Wonder if the coach Justin Longmuir has it. Comes over as bit of a gently bentley type where Hagan is down in the trenches full on. Justin before taking over from Ross was under the wing of Bucks so do not think he learnt anything from Bucks.
I'm a big fan of Longmuir. Think he will be a very good long term coach.

In hindsight it was a predictable result. Eagles really are a pissweak bunch.

This is a very strange season.
Cannot remember a year when there have been so many unexpected results.
Even the lowly Kangaroos almost upset the new love child in Melbourne.
Admittedly, it was not at the G
Some teams have been manhandled one week and then come out the following week and blitz the opposition.
Bizarre, as my son would say.

Didn't see any of the WA derby but thought it was a good chance for Freo to break their run of outs against the Eagles. Any club with finals ambitions would fancy itself against us with e.g. Grimes/Astbury/Broad out.

Not really.

The last season ended on 24 October. The ten teams that didn't make finals had the time to get a reasonable chunk of pre-season training in before Christmas. Their seasons ended at the end of September so they were back training in mid-to-late November. By contrast, Richmond and Geelong players were still on their annual holidays until a few days before the Christmas break rolled around. They didn't get into training in a serious way until early January.

This might explain why the first half of this season is delivering an unusually high number of eyebrow-raising results. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Freo have all hit the ground running. It will settle soon. As we know, an AFL season is a marathon.

Naitanui “has been sensational” again. Even though he hasn’t take a single mark yet (again), his 6 kicks and 6 handballs have been awesome.

Even his 18 hit outs have been great - much better than Darcy’s equal 18 hit outs. Pressure acts up to a staggering 12%.

Looks like another AA year coming up for the Big Phoney.
I think they mean third behind Gawn and Naitanui!

"After seven rounds of the season, Nankervis has a compelling case to be rated the second best ruckman in the competition behind Melbourne captain Max Gawn.

He is averaging 17.9 disposals, 4.6 clearances and 22.1 hit-outs per game."
