Poor man's Anthony Miles
Miles was good but slower then a tortoise.
Mitchell just does nothing with the 1000 possessions.
He is always standing still when disposing the ball, you need to be on the move in today's game.

If , obviously big if ,we are after him , he won’t cost much and could provide 2 things that would help our attack on the next 2 flags , 1 he replaces the skip , well as best as you can replace a club legend , Skips my favourite player , but those soft tissues along with one more September of being an absolute beast of a battering ram say to me the end is very close , simply Mitchell wins the footy around the ground adding another mid. 2 though Attacking is not the right word , he plays a non defensive role similar to Dusty , which would allow him to take Dustys midfield role and allow Dusty to play predominantly forward with some ballistic midfield minutes . IMHO the footy media overate TM and PRE underrate him . I think his salary value will be good , he wants success before he hangs em up , he’s the opposite of a player like Brando , I also think he won’t cost much in a trade , yes our higher first rounder might be involved, however we also have some currency in a few of our fringe kids . Anyhoo I’m not fussed either way , MC and the messiah know what there doing

I think there are short memories on here. Mitchell pre-leg was a jet, a gun, inside and out, and kicked goals. Untaggable..
we struggle inside without Prestia. At the right price this can be budgeted as a 2-3 year fix - this bloke is a footballer with a point to prove and a desire for a flag, a total pro..
I see merit in this for sure, giving up pick 16 could pinch us another flag if he finds his best in our environment
The perfect replacement for Prestia is not a plodder like Mitchell. Quinton Narkle has stepped up this year and his stats are almost the same as Prestia’s. He is Shai’s mate and also managed by Carr. He has also put his contract talks on hold at the Cats. Probably get him for a second rounder. He will become one of the increasing “brotherhood” at the Tigers.

Recruiting Mitchell would be the first step down Hawthorn's post dynasty list management strategy and would be a mistake.

As Sin says, it is not our style so can't see it having merit.

Didn't realise he was one of Ralphs boys..... interesting thought.

edit....*I've figured out now that he must've been protecting our future investment when he busted his wrist!

On the couch talking about Tom Mitchell to Richmond

same college of 'journos' that don't think Dusty is best 22 in the league right now?

Its pretty safe to ignore every, single, opinion they publicise,

knowing you won't miss out on a thing

Wouldn't read too much into it. Doubt very much it's true.

Goes against everything we've done trade wise (no older players) and type (cant cover the ground and goes sideways).

Doubt we'll be able to bring anyone much above minimum wage TBH. Shai's cost will take care of much we had spare and Lynch's backended starts to kick in.

The Lynch deal will average $1M a year over the next four years increasing to $1.5M by 2025. Worth every penny to get him in, but it will limit us quite a bit.

I'm getting the 'our players are the best, everyone else's are utter sh1t' type of vibe here....

Mitchell for the right price, and i say that again... the right price could keep our window open little longer. to say his is sh1t is just wrong imo.

Pass, they (hawks) went to the "keep us in the window" well too many times and now languish in the bottom 4 with no immediate signs of a quick bounce back, Richmond has some life left from its elite players, has a good profile of under 25yo players to compete well for some time and the key here, has a war chest of 6 picks inside the top 50 in this years draft ! The way we recruit now who knows what that delivers. We have come a long way since the Delidio-Tambling-Myers-Polo-Pattison (2004 draft - 5 inside the top 20)
