Cj went for a mark early on when he touched and grabbed at at least 4 times. The knobs called play on.
In the first 5 minutes of the Collingwood Melbourne game, they have paid marks for half of what Cj did.
The Vickery look alike for Melbourne didn't hold it longer then a second. And the weed paid a mark.
The game is fkked.
Was about to post the very same. As well as the first time in 10 weeks below the knees is paid. The umpiring is so inconsistent and poor it's just laughable.

Waratahs vs Chiefs was a better watch on Saturday night with a Ref that managed the game.

Not that it's bothering me, I did some forensics on the distance of the pass called a mark to Kennedy.
We already know it was a short kick that followed a diagonal path as it did not cross the mown strips which are commonly known to be 10mt.
The sign in the background has a couple of W's on it. The kick occurred in front of the western most W.
The second W on the same sign was lined up with Kennedy as he was set for goal.
The fence at that point is curved, similar to the diagonal but not true to the path of the ball.
The distance between the W's is about 5 mts. This is a pure guess.
Assuming the umpire set the mark at the correct spot (which is probably closer to goal than where it should have been) and using the W's as the reference the ball travelled 8.6mt.
This sports fans was highway robbery, apart from our lack of composure of course which allowed the umps to influence the outcome.

Have said this before...AFL.have one too many umpires.
2 is enough. More than that the decisions within a game become inconsistent.
The game is rapidly deteriorating.
NRL now have 1 ref and it works beautifully.

Watch Storm who play every game at 100 % despite having injuries and winning a flag..very professional.
Only watch Tigers in AFL...the rest are dull .

I was also came on to post this Zips and HKTB. I counted 5/6 marks paid to Colonwood by early Q2 that were paid although held for a shorter time than CCJ's and Castagna's denied marks last night. Stopped counting but there were clearly more, and to GoDeez too.

Are there different rules for different games, or just for certain teams?

What about the Jack Graham holding the ball where he was on his back just throwing punches. Least he was making an attempt, wasn't shocked when he was pinged. A Wet Toast player earlier was tackled to the ground and just lay there making no attempt at all. Ball up.
And there was a play on the back flank, last quarter where Cotchin was clearly taken below the knees by Jones in a sort of slide, play on.....

That Jack Graham one was terrible, the WCE player tackled, jumped on Graham and then grabbed the ball. Should have been holding the ball against the West Coast player, they took possession and made no attempt to dispose f the ball. Graham could not dispose of the ball because another player had possession.

It was simply ridiculous. Anyone could see it was a BU but ump waited and waited as if holding on to try and ping Jack for not getting the ball out. Clearly he was prevented from doing it and no longer had control of the ball. It led to Jack half punching the Weagle lying on top of him. Almost led to a full-scale melee.
From my observations, there are many teams for whom that would have been an almost immediate BU (e.g. if it was Pendlebury or Selwood et al).

The non in the back at the goal square was a killer.
No way that was a dangerous tackle.

Penderbury told the field umpire it wasn't out on the full..then the umpire told the boundary umpire to throw it in.
The Melbourne players were dumbfounded

Nah, that one was right, Jack was on the ground and "dragged it in". that is almost always paid.

The umpires don't pay us free kicks that we get pinged for.
The WC pushes straight in the back but because it was over the boundary no free kick.
But the Wc player can lead with his head into Graham and it's paid as high.
Can someone ring me when one of our forwards gets a free kick for blocking or Holding

Wrong. It's actually paid for not getting it out or unable to in spite of attempts which Jack was clearly making but it was impossible given the WC player was lying on top of him and holding it in.
One of the expectations I have of the umps is eyesight and common-sense. A lot to ask i know. As I said, would not have been paid against many other players but ours.

If you are on the ground and take possession and dont get it out it is paid holding the ball. that is why the tacklers do their best to hold it in.
it was rough cos he was on his knees when he initially grabbed it, but it was a free.

Demons vs pies today.
One umpire (o Gorman I think it was) calling play on after a mark heaps quicker than another umpire.

If the umpires can't consistently adjudicate a rule within the SAME GAME, then get rid of the rule!

Footy is becoming so frustrating to watch. Can't even enjoy nuetral games anymore

OK but don't you think it's a stupid rule if you are no longer capable of releasing the ball because it's not in your control? I see that interpretation applied often too, like for DeBianco in the Pies win. Ump said it had slipped down under his body (near knees I think). So BU.

It's just common-sense but I DON"T mean when a player makes no genuine attempt or fakes it.

I'm with Leon on that one with Graham. It was not possible for Graham to be holding the ball since it was the WCE player, and not Graham, who was in possession of the ball when the free was called. The WCE player didn't just hold it in, he grabbed the ball and stayed there. Not sure if it would work but Graham should have flung his arms out to show he didn't have possession or tackled the WCE player who did have possession of the ball at the time.

Not sure how you are supposed to dispose of a ball you do not possess.

and then a holding the ball against him, when he clearly had no prior and the ball spilt out. im sure there is an umpiring expert amongst us who can explain that free?
You sound like trump voting anti vaxxer.

Expecting the umps to give an apology and admit the ryan pass didn't go 15m. Similar to what was given after the geelong sydney game.
