Someone please remind me, I remember Chris being a fairly solid small unit in the forward line.
Why is his son built like Justin Beiber? I get a winger needs to be fit and runs hard but he needs to put some size on so when he is tackled by men you can get up and do a repeated effort.
If he has issue putting muscle or size on then I'm sorry but there will be no place for him on the wing and it will be forward pocket or bust like his dad.

He can do some really beautiful kicks to advantage inside 50 which I saw plenty of in the VFL, however doesnt have the time and space in AFL.

I generally take a 'glass half full' perspective on the younger players but I'm struggling more with every game to see the upside with Naish. He's light but doesn't have a tank (which is a bit strange), he's got good skills but doesn't get enough possessions to be damaging, and he is not a good tackler. Can the club fix these things? Not so sure on present output.

I like Naish

He is a tiger man, tries his best, and is a lovely long kick that could be a weapon.

Problem is I don't think he is a good enough runner to make it.

Paddy was done at the end of last year. How he survived the cut is beyond me.
Club didn’t cut deep enough last year. 2 picks in the draft raised eyebrows at the time and looks even worse now. 5-6 players on our list who would be absolute no-brainers to move on at seasons end but some are likely to be given another year due to retirements, trades and even list balance.

The club said he would take time when he was drafted. 23 in January, not looking great at the moment. May not be athletic enough for the type of player he is.

Chris Naish was deadly around goals, and would make the most of the chances he got. Remember him kicking some unbelievable goals. However think he would struggle in todays game with amount of running and chasing required from the small forwards, especially in a team like ours. There was no such thing as a pressure forward back then, a small forwards role was to kick goals. Similar to Paddy, Chris wasn't quick and didn't have a massive tank.

Chris Naish was slow , very good goal sense though, s specialist small forward without pace

Chris had all the tools at Richmond to provide us a great Father / Son delivery. Obviously Paddy was conceived while Chris was at Port Adel.

delist, hope a father / son comes good in the next 20 years. Elite kick - the you fall off a cliff with everything else. Best chance - retained as a rookie. One good contest Friday night, lead to a Lynch goal but one act does not cut it at this level !

Reading the Naish threads and the knocks on him at junior level have been borne out. Avid junior watchers called him an outside and slow player who couldn't win his own ball and didn't run defensively. The other thing I noted is he has been exposed to elite training facilities for nigh on 5 years now. He doesn't appear to have put on any size not does he have an AFL wingers tank.

He's like Connor Menadue without the pace.

Naish didnt need foot speed he was blessed with poise and class.

Fantastic little player he was.

Deadly by foot great foot skills.

he did kick some remarkable goals.

Just got towelled up when he played on players like Wanganeen, his pace killed him, but that why Wanganeen was one of the greatest ever, especially when he was at the bombers
