Was he shopping himself?
In spite of a great performance I'm not convinced he'll be at Richmond next season.
Put his price up if he was.

Simople fact of the matter is 2 Phones aint a number 1 ruck at the top level as yet as witnessed the past month or so.

He is better as a relief ruck floating forward, as shown by last night against lesser rucks with Nank the Tank back bashing the opposition up.

Question being, is that enough?

Would he help the Tigers list improve more by going or staying?

I hate being negative but it is only one game. I still think when the whips are cracking he will be exposed and go missing in the heat of finals pressure and the way those games are played. I would still prefer CJ who contests aggressively and always goes hard at the ball and player.

That's one way to look at it, for sure, Tp. Here's another:

I think you are right regarding Cholly as it is my view of him. I hope we are wrong but the pessimist in me says we are not

I'm with you but I'm not sure he's timid. He just seems to miss the flight of the ball or can't work out when he needs to go. It may be he's got the athleticism of a small and thinks about crumbing before busting a pack a bit instinct vs training. When the pack has formed he's ok to fly as he has a reference point. I think he'll play ok as second ruck/third fwd tall option playing as a small. We just need to kick it along the ground to him when he's on a tall and lob it on his head when he's matched on a medium ;)

Jury is still out in my opinion. Needs to show some consistency. Let;s see if he can frank the good form with a stand-out game next week against the Cats.

Yep, he has the tools . . . but the question is whether he knows how to use them.

Still fades in and out too much and can't handle high percentage of game on the ground. Not sure how we fix that, is it possible? If he could build more tank and play a bit more game time he can certainly be a very good player. Plus, if he plays well he is damned hard to match up on, especially if he is not the first ruck or forward, rather the second ruck and maybe 3rd forward. Gives the opposition a really tough problem to nullify him.

Plus, if he is playing forward he doesn't need much of a game to influence. 56% time on ground, a fair bit of that in the ruck, and he kicks 4 goals - that's 4 goals the opposition have to match or better.

DS
Of course he knows how to use his tools Dave. Didn't you see Friday nights game?

Still immature n developing for a big bloke n perhaps he'll never build a mid fielder type tank or totally eliminate those momentary lapses in games where he's momentarily non functional. But he should develop into a serious weapon played as he was last night. Perfectly used through the interchange as support ruck and rotating around as a floating forward with about 60% game time.
