Yeah, Scott Ryan said it was time to put Ray away. He didn’t categorically rule out a return, but it seemed unlikely. You may like Rake, also Australian and set in Sydney. It has a stellar cast, too. Lost the plot a bit in season 5, but the first 4 were great.

haven't watched many of these but Jack Irish with Guy Pearce, Aaron Pedersen and a bunch of other easily recognisable character actors seems OK too... ex-lawyer turned PI/debt collector (Pearce) solves cases, mostly set in Fitzroy!

They're a good watch. 3 movies based on the Peter Temple novels (on Netflix), and 3 series (ABC iView).
They spend a lot of time at the Napier

loved Mr Inbetween too

Just watched the first ep on the recommendation of a Sydney friend, captures that inner city Sydney mood well. The laconic humour reminded me a bit of Chopper.

Will watch again.
It gets better.

I read the series are basically extensions of the movies Larabee... would you recommend the series or movies or both?

I'd recommend both. All the series are basically stand alone with different plots/cases than the movies, with the only link with them and the movies being Jack's back story, the old buggers at the pub and a different sub plot involving a horse racing scam.
Some of his cases are linked through the series and movies, but I reckon you could watch any of them by themselves without a problem

Been watching Halt & Catch Fire on SBS. Drama about big tech computer engineer in the early 80s. Not too bad.

Tried White Lotus on Binge. Didn’t grab me.

Now trying a 4 part doco called The Lady and the Dale about a transsexual women in the states in the 70s who started a car manufacturing company making lightweight 3 wheeler low petrol consuming cars! And yes, it’s a true story!

There's a documentary series on WWF superstars on SBS on demand that is worth a look.

Very well made and interesting even for those with not much interest in wrestling.
Watching Now episode 3 Macho Man

That's a few years old. It was good but the 1st season was the best. Fictionalised history of Compaq without ever mentioning Compaq

Dark Side of the Ring. 3 series worth. I am not a huge either but the series is fascinating (not every ep is about specific wrestlers but sometimes bizarre events in wrestling history).

I dont know if it's been mentioned before on this thread.

But I just watched The Murders at White House Farm, based on a true story in mid 1980s England is worth a look. 6 part series.

Freddie Fox plays a very good part as the son, brother & uncle of the victims.

On Netflix.
