Again, had blokes just run around him. Credits in the bank for months but signs aren’t great.

Next year just become different.

Isn't in great form like the rest of the team. Have to be realistic. He's nearly 33yo. His output, particularly around defensive acts is going to decline as it gets harder to get to contests. He's going to get more injuries and require more time to recover. The ageing list has been my concern for a while. I think Geelong are in the same boat but they picked up even more mature players as a last hurrah at the flag (not to mention a champ by the name of Cameron)

He hardly attended a centre bounce last night. Him and Shai were hardly sighted there.
I wouldn’t write him off. Needs a good run with injuries.

The worst game I've seen Shedda play for years. First signs he too is getting older.
He’s looked terrible since coming back ToOba. Looks 2 yards slower, keeps tapping the ball, too many silly over the head and backwards handballs, struggling to bend over and pick it up and burning half his passes with low, bladey efforts.

Edwards had been playing injured. Now he's been spelled. And might have a few years left. Let's hope.

But we have to prepare for life after Edwards and Houli for that matter.

When it comes to use, we're not stacked with players who can rip a game to pieces with a single use. Edwards is one of them. Dusty is another. Jack can.

I don't think we're looking to replace the player Edwards. That can't happen. He's a very rare beast.

But we need to look for incisive ball users. For the future.

This will come up agina and agina in recruiting. IQ. Incisiveness. Vision. Ball use.

(I eventually picked up the 'agina' typo but left it for the amusment of all. Mainly my own.)

Yeah. It took Sheds a long time to peak, but boy did he peak. I think we can cover Houli but Sheds is not easily replaced. Bolton is our one X-Factor guy in the lower age brackets right now, hope we can unearth a few more. And we gotta hang onto Shai.

Shedda looks best when we've got numbers around the ball. He'll find the option if we do.
If we don't it can look ordinary. His creativity relies on those around him to work effectively.

Normally Shedda coming in would meet with more fan fare but he looked off his best last time he returned.
Hoping he's right to go,. We'll need much closer to his best in the push towards finals.

IMHO Shane has always taken 2-3 games to hit form. He hasn't been able to do this cos he gets hurt everytime he comes back in.

I'd seriously consider placing him in cotton wool until pre-season.
Might be wrong but he looked like he sustained an injury to his foot early in the game.
