I don’t agree with that. Have you got examples of this lack of committment and effort? The guys been treated appallingly by the WA legal system. How easy would it have been to say *smile* it it’s too hard at that point? Yet here he is at the back end of a challenging season (for all sorts of reasons) playing his best game. That demonstrates massive commitment and effort to me. He’s a must keep, he is gunna be a star of the comp.
yeah - you're probably right. spewing on the track shows alot of effort and commitment. Probably should have said has made some poor off-field decisions along the way.

Absolute champion player who has come from a long way back. Has done all that could be asked to prove his commitment and is a massively important keeper
and deserving of a decent wage hike to boot.

He’s a great footballer trying to be accepted as a good kid. Those last quarter efforts were all heart.

The last two posts has Stack as “an absolute champion player” and “a great footballer” respectively.
Reality is, he’s a highly gifted and talented young man trying to make his way in a hugely competitive and results oriented sporting environment where players are given every opportunity to succeed if they want it bad enough.
His comeback has illustrated that he’s on the right path to becoming all of the above if he can sustain the required motivation and drive.
I’m enjoying the journey but am so excited about the destination.

Agree. Particularly, with the bolded. The club knows how good he can be. Syd just needs to believe it too and do the work. These are encouraging signs, but he still has a ways to go.

Stack and Bolton are our sheer class kids going forward.

Aside from Moju, forget the rest of the kids on the list these 2 are our genuine class junior talents who are already at the level.
Don’t forget Noah. Has missed a lot this year but is in the same class as Shai, both of whom I rate at this point, slightly ahead of Syd.

Whether you call him an absolute champion player or something else is up to you.
Extravagant praise maybe but a few years back I recall rating Shai Bolton as one of our very few who had the capacity to win a Norm Smith medal.
Syd is also such a player. Like Dusty he has the ability to inspire effort from those around him.
While we didn’t see his effort on Sunday translate
to higher effort from others, he has that same never say die streak.

It’s good we have some absolute class coming through - Balta, Stack and Bolton are the next match winners if they can stay the course.

If CCJ and Samson come good we can start to see the skeleton of our next generation.

A way to go though but Stack getting to this point is a massive positive to come out of a disappointing year.

Been brilliant again

He's reminding a few why the club has stuck fat and repaid the faith. We forget he was competing with Walsh and Smith for the Rising Star a couple of seasons ago. His composure across half back (along with Rioli's) has been really telling. Keep going Syd, you're smashing it atm.
