Putting aside all the reasons this season turned so badly...
The most glaring deficiency I noticed in most of our games was the inability to lay a tackle properly then make it stick...too easily broken
Whether this is due to lack of strength or technique I'm not sure but must be a focus in the off season.

Pendles would be a great playing assistant imho
Love Pendles as a player but In general, gifted players don’t make great coaches. I think it’s because they can struggle to relate to the wider playing group. They just don’t understand why everyone can’t work as hard as they did or understand the game like they do.

The biggest hurdle is the facebook generation.
They dont tune into real news and are "educated" on vaccine efficacy by fear mongering fluckwits.
That Facebook campaign has frightened a lot of indigenous people out bush into not getting vaccinated. Community health orgs have done a poor job countering the crap. They make me furious. Most anti vaxers are young, healthy and not in a vulnerable demographic.stupid pricks.

Leigh Matthews the exception.

Wasn’t Dimma original recruiting phrase along the lines of “if you can’t kick, you don’t play for Richmond “?

Yes, he did. Then he had to quickly forget it because of our lack of high draft picks generally over recent years.

That's after expending high picks on the likes of Lennon and CEllis - who were good kicks but remiss in other key facets required at AFL level.

Think Eddies best is well past him, not sure he wants to coach ?
Yeah not as a player, but maybe as a development coach.
No idea if he wants to coach.

Imo we could do with an assistant coach who can connect with our talented players like Stack and RCD. They would look up to Betts and respect him. If he can teach them hard work and getting the most out of themselves, not just bludging on their talents

No doubt , most loved bloke going around. I think Eddie wants time away from the game though ? . We do have X who seems to have a great repore with all the players not just the indigenous lads. A fresh voice in theory has to help, however if it’s not speaking with the main ingredients that are in the Richmond hymn book it could be like a virus. I’d be more then happy to ad Pendles to our playing/coaching list , however if possible ($) I’d like to ad another voice in the Coaches box , no idea who though

The first half of the game vs the Hawks gave a glimpse into what we can expect from the Tigers game plan next year. Careful control as opposed to ballistic chaos.
Challenging time for Hardwick as he looks to reshape our previously successful high pressure, contested game plan to the SHocking new format.
I must admit I'm saddened by this departure but if you can't beat them join them.
