Was thinking about Dave tonight.

Played huge roles in 3 GF's - blanketing Jenkins, Finlayson and Hawkins.

So underrated.

Thank you

It’s been an emotional week, on the back of an extraordinary 12 years. I’m so grateful to have been able to experience what I have.

I’ve been overwhelmed by the volume of appreciation. I can’t find the right words to justify how much it means, and I endeavour to get back to as many of you as I can.

I feel so fortunate to retire alongside people of such distinction in @bacharhouli14 @shaunburgoyne9 & Alastair Clarkson and pay tribute to their contribution to the game and causes that transcend sport.

I’ve loved my time at the Richmond Football Club and I am, beyond doubt, a better person having experienced what I have. I’ve been taught lifelong skills, established authentic relationships, and learned and become passionate about meaningful causes.

This video consists of myself and a fraction of the people that have contributed to my career. People I love.

I’ve hung up the boots, but I’m excited to be a Richmond man and a Richmond fan for life.

Thanks @amc11 that's magnificent and I love the compilation Dave's put on there.

Hadn't seen the long range shot of Dustin's final GF goal before. ..... I blew it up and zoomed in and the reaction from Dave and Grimesy is bloody priceless!

Edit: Should have said both Jack and Dustin's goals on closer inspection!

Great idea - technically challenged here so it hadn't occurred to me I could even enlarge the video until I read your post so thank you :) and watching the reactions is absolutely priceless. So much joy and happiness right there.

Interesting interview on SEN1116. Reckoned that Richmond will bounce back big time, 100% guaranteed, that the people at the club from players to coaches to every single off field person were outstanding and that Richmond fans weren’t staring into any prolapsed lack of success any time soon. In fact, he reckoned this current group of players were better than what we started our premiership runs with and in not so many words, people had to remember we’ve put a huge base of work into our young guys and now we were gonna let them loose, so to speak.

I was a bit shocked but he was big time adamant.

Dave's still high on the post-retirement buzz plus Mad Monday may have had an effect

"Avoiding certain game situations" - pulled out of a contest? what else could it be? braver to admit it than go into the contest though.
Could be more about handing over to another defender/getting support rather than being exposed 1v1

I'm hoping with a big preseason I'll come good about round 6-7 next year.
Good stuff, you know they say if you don’t have a good pre season behind you you just don’t get the benefits during the season proper.
