I wouldn't be getting rid of Pickett or Ross. Keep Chol unless he wants a trade.

Are clubs allowed to do this???
Would have thought that any points deficit from this years draft would have to come off the value of their first pick in next years draft.

They would trade with someone to do it.

The way you understand it is correct, but if they trade their 2022 2nd for a 2021 2nd then they are ok.

I'd be content with doing that trade with them. Trade say Pick 28 to them (will end up being 30-31 etc after f/s) and deathride them next year for them to finish last and get pick 19 next year. They HAVE to move a pick this year or as you say it comes off their 1st next year, eg, if they finish last, their pick 1 drops from Pick 1 to Pick 3, or if they finish 3rd last, their pick 3 becomes pick 6 or 7. They can't afford that sort of a drop out of the top 5 picks next year so IMO they will trade a 2nd into the 2nd round this year and someone will get a good deal.

Surely our ruck stocks have to be culled. There are a couple of teams desperate for rucks and would pay overs.
With Soldo and Nank set to be 1 & 2 (I know we need backup); just how may of Chol, CCJ, Colina, Ryan do we want or need. Admittedly Ryan and Colina are long term projects and probably wouldn't be expected to play senior games in 2022. So I guess that leaves Chol and CCJ. I don't think we tried unless we get a real good deal but hope we are open to it - CCJ is from SA - maybe Adelaide?

With Astbury, Houli and Naish going, I suspect 54-5 more will go.
I think Eggs, Gartwaite and Caddy are near certainties but outside that I dont know. (perhaps we can get something for 1 or more of these three?)

We could also only use 5 of our picks and try to trade up, eg: CCJ to Adelaide with picks 14, (Geelongs pick), 42 & 45 for 4 and 20 for example.

Anyway as mentioned earlier, we will be all tuned in more than usual at trade and draft time!

Moving fast. Plans been in place for a while I would think.
Guarantee we target an established player or 3.

Agree, although it seems like Pickett will head home... or so the rumour mill suggests.

Seems like it. What do we reckon we get for him?

A 2nd with a 3rd going back?

Or with 2 premierships, do we trade him for a token pick?

Naish just got delisted.
Naish basically got delisted after his last game.

The re signing of Martyn for a year pretty much franked it for mine.

Egg, Garth, Chol, are a few more names that likely will not be at the RFC next year.

Caddy and Pickett are also possibilities to move on judging by whispers and rumors.

Our list will start changing quickly from here on.

Yeah I suspect those 4 (Egg, Garth both delisted) and Picket / Caddy traded seem like the likely movements.

If Chol got a good offer elsewhere he probably goes as a FA, but if he doesn't I expect to keep him on a below average contract.

Is Egg on the main list?

Garth gone I would think. Howe many picks do we need?
Reckon Egg got flipped ages ago.

If there is one bloke at Punt Road who knows its over and doesn't need to be told its Dekka, poor lad, showed some promise but also showed some deficiencies that he couldn't seem to overcome.

Not helped by a lack of a full genuine VFL season though, but he's been at the TIgers a few years now and got given an extra chance and an early game against the Swans, but couldn't take it.
