Further, 80% of the population are asymptomatic, which means they will experience no side effects from Covid. these 80% dont need to vaccinate. That is 100% scientific fact.

And how do you know if you are one of the lucky 80%? This is probably the dumbest take I've read on the topic and I've read a lot of really dumb things.

Why is it so hard for folks to understand?

Get vaccinated so you have less chance to spread it.

Until children from 0-12 can be vaccinated too, it is important to have vaccination passports.

Until entire families who follow and understand science can be fully protected, I don’t wanna sit next to an unvaccinated supporter.

I am not saying to stop vaccinating!! What I am saying is there is no evidence taking the vaccine will stop the spread.

I mean, what even is this post?

Bollocks, those 80% definitely do need to vaccinate so they are less likely spread it to the 20% who do experience side effects with COVID and any people who cannot have a vaccine, plus those under 12 for whom the vaccines are not yet approved. This is what is wrong with people today, consider no-one but themselves.

As for players and vaccines, I think they will end up having to be vaccinated. The airlines are basically saying no vax, no flight. So, do we have players who can only play games in their home state? I think not.

Vaccinated people will still get and spread covid, I dont see your point here. In fact ALL attendees should have to have a negative PCR test to attend any large gathering, vaccinated or not.
The point is if you know you have the flu don’t go to the football. Same with Covid symptoms. It‘s not rocket science.

Agree all attendees should pass a rapid test either on the day or day before to gain entry

I disagree imagine if a high profile player like Dusty doesnt want to get vaccinated. No way would RFC just say okay you're not playing. I think high profile players will get away without being vaccinated if they want because they're the stars of the game

Not sure about that, the airlines might simply say no. Gee ScoMo got exemptions to go home for Fathers' Day and it is pissing everyone off, surely it would also p1ss everyone off if a high profile footballer got an exemption to fly when not vaccinated while everyone else has to be vaccinated to jump on a plane.

Won’t be up to the clubs or the players. If it’s mandated they either get the jab or don’t play. Will be as simple as that.

The virus will still spread. It will be everywhere once things open up.
Like I said will unvaccinated people be prevented from indoor shopping? What's the difference between that an attending the footy?
Are you really saying you don't see the difference between sitting next to someone for 3 hours and walking past someone at the shops?

i reckon the AFL was spooked by positive cases at the Carlton v Geelong game and will make them mandatory. If not, the state government will enforce it for all sporting events IMO.

Already seeing idiots on social media stating they will “tear up their 25 years of membership if vaccines are enforced at the footy.”

Did anyone see Steven Baker's post?
Now that would be an interesting stat to look at. Compare how big a drop off in membership each club has, post mandatory vaccines to attend the footy.

Who's your tip to win that contest Ian? ;)

The problem is the presumption that anti vaccinated people = carriers.
This is not true and therefore discriminatory.
Rapid testing is a more reasonable barrier to entry.

Probably the club with the most dumb and ignorant supporters. Taking bets on Collingwood and Port Adelaide.

Interesting point one of my work colleagues made. We were hypothesising how there seems to be a correlation between how little COVID there has been an a jurisdiction and how low their vaccination rates are. Or rather, how slow they are to get the ball rolling. Hence why, like NZ's snail paced vaccine roll out, WA were lagging the rest of Australia. Perhaps a level of complacency there.

But my colleague pointed out that Tasmania, ACT and NT also haven't had much COVID, but bucked this trend. Being leaders in Australia for vaccination. His theory. Compliant public sector workers. All three of these jurisdictions have quite high proportions of the population who work in the public sector. WA - like QLD - has more of that libertarian tradition. So I'm tipping WC Eagles :).

Good.
Those people can give up their membership for all I care - plenty of others (vaccinated) waiting in line to take their spot.

True you are less chance to spread it. You could also still be carrying the virus though. It's far from a watertight scenario.
Are you going to lock vaccinated people out of shopping centres too?
Am curious. Where do you stop with the division? It will resemble a police state.
I want to be vaccinated. I want to be protected. I don't want a world where we are putting people in pigeon holes.
