Bevo goes bang..............cop that Cornhole !!

"But former Port Adelaide 300-gamer Kane Cornes said that it looked like Treloar wasn’t happy about where he was playing."

“He looks like he’s spat the dummy a little because he’s not playing midfield” Cornes told Footy Classified earlier in the week. “Some of these examples from the weekend is quite concerning from a player who has an opportunity to win a premiership. It’s not good enough for a player like that.”

"It gave Beveridge all the ammo he needed to unload in his press conference after the win."

“If you’re going to fail in life, fail at something that is noble. Fail at something you can dust yourself off and be proud that you had a go,” Beveridge said. “If you’re failing at trying to pull people apart and bring people down like two or three journalists did this week, I don’t know how people around you can live with you, how they can lie in bed with you, how they can look at themselves in the mirror."

-i actually think that's a pretty dark, way over the top retort from beveridge - not for the first time either.
-three extremely hurtful jibes at his by-standing wife for an innocuous critique no worse than healy's or brown's ?

Agree, Bevo loves playing the victim card. Treloar was pox last week. Not just shock jocks called it out. He played well Saturday. Good on him. Bevo lowers himself a bit with those comments.

Not the only coach to get the *smile* up with footy media. Who knows what the history is.

Get the feeling Treloar has mental issues which were a factor in Collingwood letting him go, and the media know it. Beveridge doesn't normally show much emotion and his response seemed a bit out of kilter. There's obviously a lot of feeling there.

Bevo is cut from the same cloth as Dimma. Their players know that their coach will go into bat for them no matter what. Kane Cornes is a nasty piece of work so I see no issue with him being put back in his place.

The footy media will now probably get stuck into Bevo for “whingeing”, like they did to Dimma.

Yep, Dimma and Bevo, are probably fed up with the clickbait, headline grabbing rubbish that Cornes comes out with every week, just like us punters are.

Karen gives it out but can’t take it. The Bevo feedback was spot on. He has taken Barrett down before also and they both deserve a good kick up the arse. Bravo I say.

Bevo basically said I don’t know how anyone could sleep in the same bed as someone who said these things. No need for that.

Asking how they could Look in the mirror at themselves and be happy at tearing other people down - sure. Treloar had a *smile* game. If it’s known that he has mental issues that get exacerbated by criticism then it’s an interesting tight rope for journalists.

THe more positive way for journalists to frame it would be to pick out his good highlights (in a final) and say that the coaching staff would be wanting him to get back to that and compare it to the bad highlights.

In Rohan’s case you may not find positive highlights in a final so you could go back to home and away.

Carlo is such a hypocrite

“They were really strange comments from Luke Beveridge and I hope if he had his time again, he wouldn’t say that. I appreciate he was standing up for his team, but to bring people’s partner’s into it, their wives and tell people they’ve failed when they haven’t was a strange level of commentary after such a famous victory.”

Yet she find it fair game to write a story on Dimma's marriage break up.

I don't mind what Bevo did. Some journos desperate for clicks and views decided to take a shot or three at Treloar. Potting Treloar will get you a lot more attention (click & views) because every feral Collingwood supporter will be invested in the story as well. And the greater AFL world as we sort of hope Treloar makes the Pies misery even worse. Don't for a second the extra clicks is a happy coincidence, this was an opportunity they couldn't resist.

So, the journos tossed hand grenades over the wall at Treloar. Bevo returned fire with ICBMs. Did he go too far? Debatable. Did he start the skirmish? No, he didn't.

I agree, what he did was much worse than what any journo did. All they did was give a correct appraisal that Treloar played horribly and without effort in that game, it was obvious to anyone watching.
unlike you to be the contrarian !!

honestly cant believe anyone taking Cornes side in this

Good on Beveridge & Dimma before him.

There's your problem, it's not about the person it's about what they do and say. Not agreeing with someone doesn't mean you get to slag them personally.

If Cornes had done the equivalent of what Beveridge did he would have said something like Treloar played so badly the other night, his Mrs should dump him instead of staying with such a pathetic loser.

And he would have worn a shitstorm and probably lost his job.

Really !

So Cornes can slag all & sundry with no consequence !

BTW Beveridge didnt name anyone whilst Cornes did

Wilson has commented on whether the break up has effected his coaching, and the team. She hasnt commented on their relationship, as far as i am aware.

Cornes made his typical over the top comments about Treloar after a poor game. If people ignored him he would stop, but Beveridge just added to it, and gave Cornes more airtime.

And Treloar has talked about depression, or other mental health issues in the past.

The media's reaction to Bevo's comments are pretty funny. Apparently only the coaches go too far with their comments.

They unleash on Beveridge but tip toe around Scott.
Where are the media to highlight his shitful list and game plan.
Was Scott's press conference any better??

“He looks like a player who has spat the dummy a little bit because he’s not playing midfield,” Cornes told Footy Classified.
“Some of these examples we saw on the weekend, it’s quite concerning a for a player who has an opportunity to win a premiership. It’s not good enough for a player like that.
Cornes referenced a moment in the match when Treloar stopped giving chase after being wrong-footed by Brisbane's Deven Robertson while trying to put on defensive pressure.
“This is the worst one. You can’t give up in a final. He’s given up there,” Cornes said.
Cornes crossed the line and just made *smile* up. Spit the dummy because he's not in the midfield? Given up? Not good enough for a player like that.

Cornes made it personal. Even if you ignore the fact Treloar has had mental illness issues, it's still over the top. Cornes didn't just criticise Treloar's game, he criticised Treloar's state of mind.
