2021 Draft Thread

That reel doesn't really excite me Aces. He's 3 inches taller than his opponent in most contests, and he often ends up on the ground.

just a comment on the reel, rather than the footballer.
Which one of his 4 genuine contested marks didn’t you like EztT?
A fearless and mobile KPD who took the points against 206cm Darcy in their last match up will do me.
He’ll strengthen in the legs and will learn to keep his feet with footwork education and conditioning.
At 195cm and strong in the air, he’s going to be a handy player for some team.
I’m hoping it’s ours.
A question for our pundits.
If he turns out as good as Sam Taylor for GWS, what draft pick is he worth?

What puts him ahead of the others for you SA?
He is the next version of Sam Taylor from GWS. He is elite for the position he plays in. Its also a position we so desperately need covering. The Grimes replacement.
He has the ability to move between lock down defender and intercept defender. Super crucial in todays football.

We cant afford to miss out on another Sam Taylor.

My only concern with taking someone like Gibcus is more around keeping him on the list. He won't play a lot of footy over the next 2 years so will he ask to leave? Most top 5 draftees expect to be playing AFL not VFL footy consistently within their 1st 2 years, I don't see that happening with him.

With Tarrant, Balta and Grimes playing tall back there isn't any space for him, unless we are wanting to move Balta up the ground?

Seems there’s a view (not saying it’s mine) that intercepting defenders aren’t as hard to find or develop as other positions generating primo outcomes are, and that you shouldn’t go too high with them in the Draft. Think this is why Gibcus is sliding in many rankings. Dunno.

What did Sam Taylor go at ? 27 or something ?

Looks like Williams has been dropped for WA?
No Bazzo either?
Resting or hiding?
Keep an eye on Benning.

Thanks @caesar ... didn't realise this was on and being streamed.

Hope one of the keen PRE draft experts can put up a list of who we should take an interest in.

Benning is Freo academy, unfortunately.

Horne-Francis and Roberts missing for SA. Playing finals I think, same for Williams and Bazzo.

just watched Qld V Tassie U19.

player that caught my eye was Ollie Davis Tassy onballer No.3.

very Trent Cotchin. hunts the ball through congestion. tackles hard. gets better the longer the game goes on and the closer it gets.

think you'll get a look at him Allies V S.A next week?
