With possibilities of Hobbs Ward Johnson Gibcus Rachele it feels like we will get a good one.
I can't stay committed to any one of them, saying to myself if we get xxx then it means we can target xxx at 26-28.
Each initial pick has a great outcome

My tip.....

We are going to trade pick 7 to Freo (most likely) for pick 8 and a future 3rd.

With pick 8 we choose Hobbs or Ward.

If we don't trade it to Freo, we will send it to West Coast for their first pick (10 I think) and a future 2nd round pick. Would think we end up with either Hobbs or Sonsie

Johnson whisper getting very strong.
They need an outside runner so it will be Ward or Johnson, the coach likes Johnson so maybe the choice has been made. Don't know but Ward is fine as a back-up plan.

I went for Gibcus, based on the fact that Tarrant will only have one or two years, and Grimes will be 31 in 2022.

Balta and Gibcus for the next 10 years or so sounds ok to me.

If Hawks take Johnson then you would choose Ward over Hobbs?

Interesting idea. If we are keen on Hobbs ,(and Hawks take Ward) we could play the WA teams off against each other. Johnson Amiss and Erasmus.

Saints unlikely to take an inside mid and choose Gibcus, so we get our man and get a future pick. I like it.
We could go into next year with three 2nd rounders

Yes, I think I prefer the more rounded mid, Ward has a far superior outside game & I generally think you need that to justify such a high pick. Some interesting comparisons being made, Dan Hannebery just got a mention. He's a bit like Marc Murphy for mine, I think Hanners lacks polish at times whereas Ward is more clinical, even if that usually entails 30 metre kicks. His tank is exceptional and he has demonstrated a run and carry game. Overall a good package and a solid pick to get things started.

Hobbs which please me as we have genuine gaps opening up with our contested and clearance ability
Gibcus is tempting but I think Erasmus slightly ahead
of Johnson would be my choice.
Alleer to be selected if he is still available in the second round, irrespective of whether we take Gibcus or not.

I haven't mentioned Rachele given he's looming as a Crow's pick but I would be pleased to get him nevertheless. I think I would be happy with a Johnson/Sonsie double act and then grab a few sliders down the order, whoever that may be.
We're pretty closely aligned. Rather than hoping for sliders though, I want us to trade up to secure Butler and hopefully Howes. But at least Butler. Him plus Sonsie and one of Rachele, Johnson and Hobbs, and whoever else we get is gravy.

I don't mind bundling a couple of twenties picks, those two would add a nice element.
