Exactly. In the mad rush to find an AFL bias against us, people seem to ignore all facts and logic.

The clubs all lodge an extensive wish list of fixture preferences each year and those lists are almost entirely focussed on making money, not what is best from a football point of view. We would have home games against teams like Port, Gold Coast, GWS at the absolute bottom of the pile. You can make more money playing them interstate. When you host an interstate team you want it to be Brisbane or Sydney who have the Melbourne supporter bases or even Adelaide who tend to draw ok over here.

Conversely teams like Port and Gold Coast would have playing us at home on the top of their list because we would be their biggest gate for the year.

So when the AFL produces those lopsided allocations of home and away matches, it is actually because they are giving both clubs exactly what they have requested.
OI TBR, leave out facts and logic.
Its like transparency, fairness and honesty, there’s no place for that where the afl is involved.

Great draw. Tricky first 6 or 7 weeks but then smooth sailing, Gee the double up games are pure gold. Imagine Port and Bombers being the finals side we have to play twice. Can't get much easier than that.

Mercy rule been applied to the Crow baits??
All too hard after their first obliteration so the AFL honcho's have deemed they don't need to play any more games on the grounds of mental suffering.

It's obviously one of the Bummer supporters that work there. Too obvious with the Bummers 4-1, the Dorks at 0-5 and can't even do the maths with Adelaide at 1-0 after 5 games. Laughable.

Bombers 4 W and 1L, LOL now I've heard it all.

3W and 2L ain't the end of the world but I'd say we are more likely to go 4W and 1L

Dees could well go 3W and 2L.
Hopefully, they go 2W and 3L

So I don’t understand why this game against the cats is an unofficial practice game while the one the following week is an AMMI pre season game - why aren’t they both treated the same.

But my question is does anyone know how to purchase tickets to either of these, particularly the Hawks game?

Not sure but unofficial practice game could mean clubs can run 36 to 40 players over 6 qtrs just so everyone can get a participation ribbon with a pie n can of coke at the end of the day.
Official pre season games will be run pretty much the same as an in season game.

Gill the dill says they "plan for normality in 2022" but here we are a couple of weeks out from the season starting and we have no clue about when (and maybe where) games will be played after May 14 (round 9). Not what I'd call "normal" and makes it bloody hard for people (interstate & country) to plan much.

I'd rather they put out a proper fixture with the rider "subject to change should Covid ......blah blah).

Pre-season games start tomorrow. Doubt they'd be televised unless streaming by clubs.

I'm a bit paranoid playing at Pussy Park with SHocking around. Just hope we don't get sabotaged...
