It’s fascinating watching it all. Ringo contributes nothing. Lennon seems a bit apathetic at times, Mcartney keeps driving it and Harrison comes across as someone who’s tired of being ignored. But it doesn’t really look like a band about to disband. You can’t help but think I wish they’d just agreed to take a break for a year or 2.

I've only seen the clip above but Ringo and George were totally disinterested at first, or maybe just tired. George's yawn blended in to the song. As it started to come together you could see them focusing and really paying attention.

yep, it takes them a few moments but then they both start noodling along .

Ringo has said about the song Get Back, "if you don't tap your feet to it you're dead"

Ringo contributes nothing.
untrue. he's half of one of the best rhythm sections of all time. and he's on point at the drop of a note.

I reckon they've seen it play out many many times and know when something clicks. No doubt McCartney has started like that and given up more times than he's latched onto something good.

The one thing that struck my about the series was just how amazing McCartney is. For some reason I thought Lennon was the musical genius but during that month, it was all Paul.

Dopesick on Disney+ is surprisingly underwhelming. Acting is fine (Peter Sarsgard and Michael Keaton among others) but the story line of one big pharma and their shonky practice of marketing and selling OxyContin is quite slow and flat.
I'm enjoying it. Can relate to it as I use to run a regional GP clinic and particularly when we first opened, we were swamped by dr shoppers looking for oxy. Shocking, highly addictive drug and this series highlights US regulators and big business corruption (yet again). If I had a dollar for every time I heard a punter ask for another script of oxy because they lost their script on the bus, I'd be very wealthy. No one seemed to lose their script for ventolin.

I was referring to him not as a musician but his contributions to the song making process in this doco.

Yeah, I think it's generally thought that Lennon was the driving force early days, but McCartney grew and eventually took over that role. At the same time Harrison and Lennon were getting more interested in their own projects.

I never bought the "Yoko broke up the band" malarky. She was more a symptom of that growing apart than the cause.

Managed to watch two documentaries yesterday

The Rescue - The rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team trapped in Thai caves for 16 days. I didn't appreciate just how impossible getting them all out alive was. Warning, the room tends to get a bit dusty in parts. Very good.

Burning - The 2019/202 Black Summer "I don't hold a hose mate" Bushfires. Was expecting a bit more about the fire itself, stories, devastation etc. Instead it's very much a climate change political piece with the bushfires as it's core. Pretty hefty whacks at #ScottyNoHose, his government and the Murdoch media empire. Watch it if only to remember the way the government reacted to the bushfires. It makes a good point that the climate change debate was gaining decent traction in Australia but then COVID hit.

I liked The Rescue but am not a fan of blurring re-enactment with real footage without acknowledgement.

Probably still wins the Oscar but some purists see it as fraudulent.

The Shrink Next Door also on Apple however is excellent. Based on a true story of an overbearing psychologist who took over his patient's lives and took advantage of their vulnerability to feather his own nest. Uncomfortable to watch at times but great performances from Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

I’d actually listened to the podcast on which this series is based. They have done a good job dramatising it. The guy who made the pod has also interviewed a lot of the actors on the pod which is also interesting.

Set in remote Norway - really quirky characters - loved it

** SUCCESSION SPOILERS **

The series got better and the finale was pretty good but there were some oddities:
- Logan claimed he always wins but was forced into selling his company rather than merge.
- Logan could have simply included Shiv and Roman in the dealings to sell.
- The two major shareholders were nowhere to be seen but should have had a say in any merger/sale.
- Hard to see what Tom gets from shafting Shiv at the last minute considering control is to be ceded t Matsson (and Logan couldn't have known earlier).
- Howe did Tom get there so shortly after the others when he left considerably later?
- Why is Greg, as only a relatively dimwitted cousin, able to insert himself in every shindig despite flip flopping his loyalty throughout?
- What were all the employees doing pounding away on their computers?
- Why are so many promising story lines started and then discarded?
- Why don't we see more of Willa (Connor's girlfriend/fiance)?

1. Timing. Time to sell. Winner
2. I think he's decided the kids are no good, hence the new baby storyline starting
3. I guess
4. Tom is getting a harder edge and his character is developing. Shiv doesn't respect his business acumen, maybe this is a big *smile* you
5. Warp Drive
6. Comedic value
7. Working. It's what we all used to do pre-WFH/COVID
8. Ratings and polls
9. Who?

I reckon Shiv is going to be so *smile* off with Logan and Tom that she's going to start a relationship with the Bored Swede, the ultimate revenge on Daddy and Hubby
