That was then, this is now Massa.
The rules have changed, the game style has changed.
I don’t give a *smile* if Dimma reckons George is the 2nd coming as the messiah of small forwards. As do some of his most ardent supporters.
A player who has 3 effective kicks for 75% game time, tells me something. He’s fallen asleep on the field somewhere, he can’t read the play, he’s where the ball ain’t, he’s a decoy duck or whatever.
But any or all of the above tells me we‘re a player down on the field. I don’t give a *smile* if he runs hard all day (for what, to where?) and runs fast, your eyeballs won’t lie. Regardless of stats.
What’s he earn? $3-400k a year? He’s the oldest highest paid auskicker in the league
To consistently miss from 30m out when you have limited ball, tells me you’re playing millionairesque football while you’ve the skill set of a pauper.
Plenty on here judge other players in regard to performance, ball use and ability to assist the team.
Pity those astute judges use a different set of measures when it comes to Georgie boy.
Hard for anyone to argue against that lot Willo.
It's not me that's seeing something special about Georgie but Dimma n the match committee, oh n night Carter as well. Could simply be a matter of us having a bunch of injury niggles etc early in the year while also starting to transition more games into Raaallph, Dow, R2D2, Miller, Moju and repositioning the games of Sausage, Balta, Bakes, Shorty that he's stuck with trying to get the best he can out of Georgie coz he's been flat out trying to juggle n settle a whole heap of other stuff n doesn't need more distractions of trying to replace Georgie.

Love George but if Prestia and Vlastuin are right to go and we have no injuries and he still plays, either Carts is right and none of us knows anything, or Dimma doesn't. The only other way I could see him staying in is if we only play one ruck or we manage Sheds or Lambo.
Yeh I’m a fan but hard to see who else gets dropped. MRJ cannot be dropped and only the scenario above sees George hold his spot.

George would be an ideal - almost perfect - substitute.

He’s versatile - and particularly if introduced mid or late match - he would be capable of going absolutely full bore to the finish and genuinely impact a game.

If Castagna is so busy covering the outlets, why is he often flying for marks deep forward , that he doesn't take, spoiling our talls ?

We have a mostly veteran team that can afford to carry a sometimes inconsistent player or three, but can we make them promising skilled juniors showing great VFL form please?

Yeah/Nah

I see a headless chook running round with Benny Hill music blaring .......
Much prefer managing a composed and skillful Edwards/Lambert type in that role

He's the first out surely.
The only thing that would save him is like for like replacements for Prestia and Vlastuin coming in. Could mean Bolton and Lambert play more fwd. Pickett hunting players with MJ in the fwd line would be good to see also.

Confusion decoy..... opposition coaches and players spend the game trying to figure out what he's doing!

He's got a few yo-yo tricks too, like "walking the dog", and he loves the "around the corner" especially when having a shot at goal;)

George is chaos personified.
I love a lot of what he brings. I just wish he was better at the football basics.
The current format of the game doesn't suit his skills set.
