Vlastuin sensational again. I personally thought he should have been made captain. Personifies commitment. 24 disposals 9 contested, 10 marks 2 contested, 6 rebound 50s and 14 intercepts. Crazy.

Vlastuin by himself is probably still better than co-captains, but that’s a whinge for another day.

He’s gotta be the most underrated player I’ve ever seen in the AFL. He’s a superstar. Should be a multiple AA.

**** Byrne-Jones. What a joke. Probably a Gerard Healy selection.
100%. His great form when the side hasn't been in great form has franked how great he is. Champion.

B-J, exactly. If he played for Geelong he'd be triple or quadruple AA. If Stewart played for us he would have been in the 40 twice for no jacket.

He is a star. I cant think of any other medium half back I would even consider swapping him for.
And yes, should have multiple AAs. like a few Tigers he is underrated by lazy commentators who talk about our systems and effort, ignoring just how good many of our players have been, and in Vlastuins case, continue to be.

During the week two of my grandchildren went to training and met Flossy. My son told me that Vlastuin was very easy going and a considered speaker. He mentioned this while we were watching Nick scratching, squirming and speaking at 100kmph during his post match interview. I'd only ever heard Vlastuin speak in that nervous way.

We can bank one Nick Vlastuin unforced error per game. But we can also rely on his superb reading of the play, courage and customary brilliant use. Sometimes he's nervous. But on a football ground he's usually authoritative.

They are even nervous to mention his name. As half of them can’t pronounce it properly, so don’t even bother.

Emma Murray has mentioned that Vlastuin suffers severe pregame anxiety, I’m sure he is a leader anyway in the way he prepares and performs. Not sure we will actually see him lead the Tiges.

In career form, must be AA this year If this continues.

If we keep Balta back and Grimes/Vlas/Broad/Baker stay fit and Gibcus can keep it together I actually think we can beat most teams. Together they are that good.

Just pray to the injury gods we get a good run....

Cheers for that Scoop. I was opposed to Floss as captain, more due to the on-field brainfarts of the last couple of years, but he's been brilliant this year. Co-captains still doesn't sit that well with me for some reason.

He has one brain fart per game onfield. Despite being a genius onfield. Should any of us be surprised if he has one off field? Furthermore was it one in ten years and not much at all?

Should be VC.

And of course Daniel Rioli. Has been a revelation and become more daring with each game. His run enables the Short upfield experiemnt to continue.

Who clocked him behind play in the second? The young bomber who copped the wrathful return hip n shoulder 10 seconds later will not be his friend… that was a massive hit

Devon Smith I'm pretty sure. Gave him a cheap punch to the guts.
