Reality is he is the best of the rest… RCD doesn’t run out after half time, Martyn is now a HB flanker, Dow probably the most potential but his numbers need to lift and his kicking too is suspect…. Sonsie still a while away and is a bit outside at this point……. Not much else

I don't know about that. Dow is a great clearance player. Ross hasn't got any elite traits.

He was shocking IMO. We've turned him into a slow outside runner who can't kick.

Has his moments but overall is not AFL grade unfortunately.

And apart from his lovely kick to space for Rioli’s goal last night too many of his kicks either miss the mark or have too much air time so invite too much pressure on the recipient.

And whilst not every player is super quick, he doesn’t appear to have any burst ability either.

Was good against the lowly Bombers who some compared to a VFL side but again struggled for pace against the Swans.
Not good enough.
Out for Pickett next game.
Yep - this was a massive chance for him to cement his spot but failed IMO. Watched him closely and in the heat of the battle when the swans were making their charge and the ball was being contested, he hesitated on a few occasions and was reactive. He could have staked his claim with some important hard ball gets but he allowed the swans to win the ball, break free and capitalise.
Our midfield is a concern - other than Cotchin we don't have any other reliable ball winners.

I dont mind Ross, but he is not what we need from a peripheral player at the moment. our midfield lacks pace and tackling pressure on the run. he doesnt provide either.

i reckon the MC like him on the wing cos he provides that constant 2 way running, but we need to get more pace around the ball. Pickett will probably come in for him, but if not, someone like Dow should be looked at.

So often his kicks fly straight over the head of his target. Overcooks them

Jack Ross is clear at 60m, RH HFF. Sights MRJ running goalward, sandwiched between Jake Lloyd and Dane Rampe. People who can actually play.

Ross sends the ball not far from the square, to where MRJ should run.

MRJ runs there.

The kick was elite. This is genius.

That kick shows he does see the game. Just need more of it. I don’t think Ross is our biggest issue, still only 21, 38 games.

Needs to be getting 20 touches a week the rest of the way, need to see energy. Impact without the ball.

Ross let himself down with some of his efforts in tight late against the Swans. He looked spent and hesitant. His natural game is contested ball but at the moment with the amount of running he's expected to do on the wings, he doesn't have enough energy in reserve to exert himself in the contest at crucial times.

Got a lot of ball in the 1st QTR tonight and good run and carry but does not hit many targets.
