I've said he's a reason we lose free kick differential all the time, but only to placate people with this hysterical view that that stat is saying things it isn't. For the sake of an extra three or four possessions each game I'm happy for the opposition to fumble at stoppage because they are looking to see where he is and for him to bring the pressure he does. That's not to say he couldn't be tidier and smarter at times but I don't think it is worth losing his strengths to address it.

I'm not really bothered by free kick numbers in general. It's a handful of possessions out of 600 odd each game so unless you have a dramatic goals from frees against number it's of such little influence on the game it is not worth addressing. 50 metre penalties are a different story though, they all need to cut that out.
Between lauding Nank for being the leading player in the comp for giving away free kicks and bagging the guts out of local umpiring, it’s good to see you are shifting position and beginning to align to the majority view on umpiring.

Taken a while, but well done sir !

Lauding might be a tad strong, I just don't think he is the issue. Vlastuin gives away almost exclusively garbage free kicks, Pickett plays like an amateur and doesn't understand how to apply physicality at the level and Bolton gives away selfish ones.

I'd start with any of them because the cons outweigh the pros although Bolton might be line ball.

Could be wrong but in amongst the very many arguments you have with people on the subject of umpiring, haven’t you always complained about all the frees he gives away ?

You’ve changed man. You’ve changed.

Think TBR is bi.
He still gets physically excited at the sound of the umpires whistle.
Whichever way it blows

I agree with this. If you look at the ones he gives away relative to the other players you have listed, you can wear his easier. I think Nankervis gives them away in certain spots to buy us time to allow us to set up behind the ball better. The problem is the new rules make that a less effective tactic.

I reckon this is nakas worse year.
The Adelaide dud BOG dropped 3 weeks later.
The x port Adelaide dud for sydney looked like Gary Dempsey against nakas.
We really need a good tap ruckman.

Why would they acknowledge it? It’s absolute rubbish. His first 2 games were average by his standards but probably having his best season to date thereafter.
Check out the coaches votes.
They know what they’re talking about.

Hardwick loves Nank’s mongrel

But how about you use your own eyes ?

Very very slow build for Nank in 2022

But he’s building nonetheless

Reckon Nank would be very high up in our B&F, definitely top 5 and possibly top 3, is having a good year.

I did mention coach’s votes. As in both team’s coach awarding him votes.
Looks like you and Zips are on your own on this one although I accept your concession now that he’s building…….. and has been from Round 3

I reject this argument too. How many senior players have had good, consistent seasons?

Not many. Short. Rioli is senior now. Lynch before the injury. Prestia when he plays. Broad was good early but fell away.

Vlastuin has been off his best. Ditto Grimes. Riewoldt bobbing up occasionally. Cotchin in bursts. Bolton flashing. Martin on leave. Balta inconsistent.

Nank could well be top 5 in the JDM but it means little within a team with few out and out stars across the season so far.

A silly argument. He’s been well off his best and folks need to accept it.
