We throwed Garthwaite on Hawkins and did well can't see why Miller wouldn't be serviceable.
Think Miller is a better match for Cameron.
His spoiling from his right hand is “elite” according to the AFL site and it’s a fact. Plays off his opponents shoulder and when he is in doubt about possession will use his right to smash it towards the boundary, or another target if one exists.
Grimes is in career best form. And along with NV is our best defender. Just beat Curnow and with some help from NV and co defenders, Hawkins is well within his reach.

I have more chance of getting a call from Scarlett Johansson on Saturday than Miller has of stopping Cameron from kicking 6 plus goals

We need Nank to apply a big judo chop or two on Jennifer

If Miller does get the nod to replace Balta, you would have to assume he will be expected to do some ruck work throughout the game. It would be an iInteresting selection as he hasn't done that at VFL level for the last two years (was trialled there a few years back). It would also suggest the two rucks strategy might be on ice if they make this decision at match commitee.

Agree with you on Miller for Cameron but normally would argue that Tomahawk would just be too big and strong for the much shorter and lighter Grimes. But you make a case; Curnow is very strong ... but much closer in size. Grimesy likes to defend from behind often and leap over for the spoiling punch which could work when he gets room for a run and punch. But Hawkins would seek body-to-body as much as possible to just block and hold him out easily.

So this is no doubt why the club is not ruling Tarrant out - training with a glove. Would like to see Miller brought in replacing Balta (who we will really miss) and tried on Cameron, with Grimes starting on 3rd tall as back-up/insurance to switch over on either KPF, but especially if Miller gets into trouble. Or better still, start Grimes on Cameron as he can match him for speed and agility with Miller as back-up switch/chop out KPD.

Miller did take some centre bounces a month or so ago, I think it might have been against Port Melbourne. Geelong's rucks are nothing flash, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch if he had to give Nank a chop out.

They don’t ruck key defenders.
Miller will only come in for an injured Tarrant.
Not a Balta replacement. Enter Soldo

Mostly Blicsav I think - 199cm and very mobile. I bet you didn't know he's a former steeple-chaser who represented Australia!

So could we go with Pickett as relief ruck? has the leap

Then use Gibcus forward and Miller in the backline.

Seems to me that we have a premiership ruck combo on our list.

We should probably play them.

Going by Stevie Morris's VFL report, it looks like Benny will be playing VFL again this week.

Ben Miller (15 disposals, five marks, four rebound-50s)

"I thought he read the game pretty well. There were times where we probably didn't set up quite as well as we have been behind the footy, and that's part of his domain, so that's a challenge for him next week. But, I thought our backs as a whole we were quite solid and Ben played well."

Against Coburg.
There should be no match report till we play a AFL quality side.

Miller has been great at VFL level for a number of games now. Thought he went out of the game in the 2nd half but we were dominating the footy. Would be surprised if Miller is not in for Tarrant.

i dont think there is any doubt Miller will come in, if Tarrant is not fit to play.
If Tarrant is fit, he wont.

If hardwick is still trying to get Tarrant over the line this late in the week.
Miller should pack his bags and head home.

Perhaps but Blicsavs is a big unit so a tough ask for Pickett. Don't want the Moggy mids getting away from us. Maybe Geelong, being a bigger, slower side that loves big bodies, we can risk playing Soldo? But he has to do far more than get 4 x Ds.
