Scott took over a top side, did an Alan Joyce flag win, and then kept them near the top, no mean feat. But thats nothing on taking over a bottom side and building it into a multiple premiership side.

Scott's legacy will be decided this year. Win a flag and he will rightly be lauded.

Their chances diminish significantly in 2023 with their list profile. A loss will see him unlikely to get another chance with the Cats.

I would prefer any other side, incl Carlton & Collingwood, win a flag than the Cats.

Twang Russell said Pricky has best W-L ratio but Dimma with 3 flags is still best coach around.

He has a great W-L record because he has been gifted with the most pronounced home ground advantage in the league in addition to being gifted a side that had already won two flags. His consistency is enviable, but I don't think he's ever been the best coach in the league. The best coach in the league has a better finals record.

The longevity of Hawkins Selwood and until this year flogfield also a big factor. They haven’t had the injury issues.

He has a 10-15 coaching record when it matters. Inflated by 3 wins running Bomber Thompson's team.

I'm sure he'll pull another supercoach move this year and start Hawkins in the ruck or something in the first final.

I hope we meet them in a knock out final this year.

I thought they were finished after last years finals series and start to the year. I reckon they may even win it this year.

We were compared to Fitzroy in Hardwick's first year.
We were shocking.
We were as bad as Melbourne under Neeld

yep, i cant think of a side i would support the cats against. a bombers v cats GF would be very painful, but thankfully that wont happen.

i was happy for them to win last night though. their record in July/August against quality opposition is very good, especially at Kardinia Park, and I dont mind them being called favourites at this time of year.

Here's Parrot's latest comment re the Cants on that site:

IF ...

the winning streak is now at seven and the past two minus the best defender in the game, Tom Stewart ...

THEN ...

we have a very clear premiership favourite, regardless of what the bookmakers’ charts say. Toyed with the Demons on Thursday night. Just need to hold things together from here, and then not get sick en masse on preliminary final day.

(my italics)

Obviously one of the AFL designated flag favourites in '22 directly from their mouthpiece! And makes excuses/explains PF loss in '21.

If Tom Stewart's face and Patrick Stagerfield's face and Tom Hawkins' knee all have an unfortunate accident with a baseball bat, just remember we were all at the movies that night.

Geez its a cats lovefest on SEN. They are amazing. Hawkins is amazing. Cameron is amazing. Stengle is amazing. Miers is now a super worker. They are superb in the midfield. Scott is playing Cameron superbly.

This could be better than 17/19 & 20.......

If Geelong win this year they will be one of the weakest teams in the last 20 years , they are really not that good..
Yet that won't stop the media pumping them up as the greatest thing , the thought makes me sick

Cats win, Cats on top of the ladder, Cats flag favourites.

God I hope this will end up like every other Geelong season this past decade. Couldn’t stand it if they won the flag. Where’s that bloody cliff?
They are peaking 2 months out from the beginning of the Finals, what could possibly go wrong....

They do love a good win at Kitty Litter Park. Even Gary Rohan looks good there.

Luckily big games are played at the MCG.
He'll *smile* the bed when the heat is on just like the rest of them will, it's an annual thing.
