Richmond have some massive gaps coming up.
Edwards, Lambert, Cotchin, Jack and possibly Dusty all on the brink of retirement or leaving.
Prestia over 30 and unreliable.
All have carried our team for a long time. Match winners.
Going to be a very interesting trade period coming up.
Suggest Taranto isn’t our only target
2 weeks ago we led the current premiership favourites with a minute to go without Cotch and Lambert, with Prestia for about 5 mins, with minimal impact from ShEdwards and Jack and a so so game from Dusty.
We have a great base to stay in contention, or bounce back quickly if a drop does come.

Its a very good point. And we all-but won last week, away, against a good side as undermanned as buggery. IF, big if, we can hang in and make the 8, and start getting our best players back, we can give it a crack this season, even winning a final would be a great lap of honour for the retiring immortals and a great way to hand the baton to the next gen.

Theres a beauty, if the beholders eyes have decent retinas
What we need is a clean ball-handling, run-all-day inside mid who's gone under the radar, maybe by playing on the wing or similar.

Clearly we are talking about two different things.
You’re looking at today whilst I’m talking next year and the year after.
I’m glad you’re happy with the current state of the list, but I’m definitely not.
We’re at least 2 quality mature bodied contested midfielders short and are desperate for a developing power KPF kicking bags in the VFL and putting pressure on Lynch once Jack retires.
Reckon the cliff is nearer than people think. We need to act aggressively this coming draft

If we finish out of the 8 again i think we have already fallen off the cliff. Premiers to 12th alone is a steep fall.

Yeah. Gems get hidden in game time, and outdated cultural stereotypes (allies = making up numbers - see my post above on why Allies are arguably the best performers)

For example 23 disposals in 64% gt = 30 disposals in 80%,

Which is a normal wingmans gametime,

And elite ball finding.

As an aside, read the allies v wa match report on rookie me central

If you didnt know the score, youde think WA (who are infuriatingly repeatedly called 'the black ducks') won by 8 goals.

They're amateurs.

Is there a link to the replay? I see my boy Ginbey had another good game. Could be the next Chad Warner.

Gilbey or Ginbey ?

Ginbey is the one I like. Much bigger than Warner. 189 v 181.

Don't rate Gilbey. Skinny outside winger. Meh.

Draft picks: 11, 19, 29

List state of play: The Tigers need another star midfielder, particularly considering Kane Lambert’s long-term hip issue and that Trent Cotchin remains one of their best clearance players. While Shai Bolton, Jayden Short and Liam Baker are all stepping up, the Tigers are still ranked 15th for contested possession differential.

Ideal draft prospects: Assuming most of the big inside ball-winners are gone by the Tigers’ pick, there should be still plenty of gun mids to choose from. Victorian duo Cam Mackenzie and Mitch Szybkowski have shown how capable they are as ball-winning midfielders, while SA’s Mattaes Phillipou continues to impress with every game he plays. A wildcard would be WA’s Reuben Ginbey — a 188cm prospect that’s been playing in defence for East Perth but in the midfield for WA in the champs, averaging 20.0 disposals and 10.5 contested possessions.

Watched more of the Allies. @eZyT they take the game on. Always looking for the 45 kick back into the corridor. They move so quick it’s hard to tell who it is at times. will watch again.

This Vic metro squad is very average besides the obvious. My less obvious like is Blake Drury. So smart, so clean.

Has anyone raised Jed Walters? Watched all the Allies games, Gabba v Vic Country live, I'm interested. 194, solid and rangey, plays strong and aggressive, takes a big mark forward, kicked 9 goals over the 4 games, get involved up the ground. I'd be interested to know what his pace and agility is like, seems OK to me on viewing, has a good step for a big man. Bit of Charlie Curnow about him. Suns academy so they'll probably take him.

Not eligible until next year, snakey.
