Thanks TT. Almost better already, hardly a bloody symptom for me. Must be one of those leathery old bastards that just keeps chugging along regardless.
good to hear TM.

We have a 60-40 back in the office policy now, can't wait till it's my turn.

Stay safe out there folks.

Consider wearing an N95 mask at work and also bringing a small air purifier to put on your desk. My partner does this, they are not expensive.

Also, I encourage all to read this

Hasn't been a post in this thread for nearly 2 weeks

As someone involved in the public health system let me say it is extraordinarily bad at the moment. The system was gearing up for the long haul of catching up on 2 years of backlog and now we are back to where we were in January, in some ways worse.

Please wear a mask and take every precaution you can. Even if 10% of people who would catch COVID otherwise avoid it will make a difference. Evidence is emerging that every time you get COVID it does more harm to your body, especially if you are not vaccinated. COVID is not over, far from it.

The staff are exhausted, abuse and violence towards health workers is on the rise again. I'm not a clinical worker but I am exhausted myself, like so many of my colleagues I just want a proper holiday, which at the moment I can't get.

Stay safe everyone.

Had my own experience with it two weeks ago, was very mild. Head cold at worst. But I'm still ultra tired from it despite the symptoms going.

Was lucky.

You were Scoop and that’s the thing with COVID how it effects individuals varies.

Too many people make an assumption that because someone they know had your experience it will be the same for them. (Not saying you make that assumption btw.)

This is a very clever and agile virus and some of the smartest minds in the world of medicine are trying to catch up to it. Hopefully they can

Finally tested positive yesterday after being at a super spreader event on Saturday night. My partner and I had 12 RAT tests between us during the week, and despite having symptoms, kept testing negative. Thought stuff this, go and get a PCR yesterday afternoon, and sure enough, positive.

All the best Red, hopefully not too serious.

I just hit the C-jackpot myself today Redders .. sure throat last night, worse today, sneezing a lot...

Symptoms not too bad but slightly "off" feeling as well,so got a RAT, positive first time. I flew back from Canberra on Tuesday night so likely from the flight or airport.

It’s just rampant. Good luck AA.

I actually had symptoms Saturday week ago - 13 days ago. RAT tested 4 days in a row after. All negative. Went to this spreader event last Saturday, so started RAT testing again from Monday onwards and still negative. Did the PCR yesterday and finally positive.

Big doubts about RATS. Having said that, did another one today after testing positive on the PCR from yesterday and FINALLY it came up positive. Not sure they’re reliable in the pre or early symptom stage.

I've just gone through a bout of sickness - had nasty sore throat, sneezing like buggery, nose dripping like a tap, massive pressure headaches (this was the worst part). I went to the doc early on as I thought i had a throat infection. The Doc agreed and gave me antibiotics. But days later the flu symptoms started up.

Did 5 RAT's across 5 days and none were postiive. Really should have gone and got a PCR done but was bed ridden for at least 3 of the days anyway and the others I was working from home. It *smile* me having to buy RAT's too.

My german friend told me they can rock into any old pharmacy/chemist in town and get the equivalent of a PCR test done (with the results back within 6 hours) for free.

It’s all very uncertain. Guy I work with was like me. Few days after exposure he developed symptoms. For 5 days straight he RAT tested negative. But he still had symptoms so he got a PCR which then said positive.

Heard similar stories from my colleagues once I got back to work. One told me they'd gotten the positive PCR and then returned home and then did a RAT which was negative. He gets them for free through his kids school.

Don't think RAT's aren't worth the plastic their made out of.

Yep I had that at first. Hot and cold chills followed that for me.

If it stays off your chest your fine. Fingers crossed Red.
Ah it’s on my chest a bit. Coughing. Phlegm. Mouth ulcers for goodness sake….

Personally, I feel German beer might help me.

Ulcers, hot salty water. As hot and salty as you can, swish it around your gob. Spit. Repeat every hour.

The only old wives tale I know that truly works.
