Well done Noah. I noticed Dimma starting to rewrite history saying Noah was always a beast but needed to work on a few things when a journalist followed up along lines of what exactly Cumberland had to do Hardwick had his mouth open catching flies . I wonder which of the things that have been apparent Noah learnt from Dimma and the coaches. The long kicking, the speed, the one touch, the lateral movement, the goal sense. The inside out dribbler, the beat everyone to the ball and snap over his right shoulder. And we haven't seen at AFL level the outrageous high marking he's shown at the lower level. And to think it was an accident. Lynch doesn't get injured Noah goes back to the twos and is probably delisted years end.

Never a truer word said. Match Committee stuffed up for the best part of the year. For those who watch the ressies we have seen this more times than not that Noah is a game breaker, but how the MC could not see what we saw beggars belief, they preferred to play Castagna and Aarts, oh dear!

5 goals - wow , 8 disposals hmm , didn't get bags of disposals in the VFL , my concern is in a final he might return stats like 3 disposals no goals
hope the coaches can work on his game and add to his natural ability
Wasn't just his 5 goals n 8 disposals, Cummers did a fair bit of crucial work without the ball as well. He'll have *smile* days at times, just as every player does, but it won't be from lack of effort.

Gave Berry a head rub after he slung Bolton.
Does have some mongrel in him.
Then disappeared out the back of the pack as soon as the pile on started to elevate. Sneaky as *smile* is the Cummerbund, made his point firmly then avoided any possible further ruckus.

He’s kicked 35 goals from 16 AFL/VFL games this year. He is a potential 50 goal small forward. Once he puts some bulk on he will be a beast. Has so much power already. I can’t wait.

As a mid sized or sort of small forward he will have good days and bad days, it is a tough role. But Cumberland has a knack of using his opportunities well. I can see him having games where he gets 2 or 3 disposals and ends up with 2 or 3 goals. Add in some valuable defensive work and he has done his job. There will be games where the opportunities are just not there. That's the reality with the position he plays. When he has a few off games we have to persist because the way he appears where the ball is going is invaluable.

I also like a player who shepherds, someone above mentioned that, not enough shepherding any more.

Castagna is a very different player. Not a great reader of the game, very hit and miss as his skill level (or maybe just confidence) is all over the place. What Castagna brought was manic pace, total unpredictability and the ability to run hard all day. Valuable traits but his erratic skills let him down too often. What Castagna could have been if he had better skills or maybe just more confidence, well, we saw what could have been in the 2019 GF. A pity really, but contributed to 3 flags so his legacy is safe.

This is spot on. Sliding doors and it could have been Castagna just getting picked week after week.

We are lucky to have someone like yourself on here who knows so much more about football than our 3x premiership coach.

I do recall early in season it was Cumberlands defensive side of things or the lack of that he had too work on.Clearly unlike Stack he did and thats why he's in the side and Stacks not.
If Dimma sees your doing the right things you get rewarded.

Take your pick many of us have been saying it for months.

In your reply to lamb22, you can't be that naive that you think the coach or MC doesn't make selection errors?
I have watched ressies all year, cumbers has kicked 30+ goals you don't think he deserved his chance earlier? Some hogwash about needed to be more defensive lol, he was chasing, and tackling, taking big marks, running to the right spots and kicking goals etc.

Castagna had some woeful games and thus he was picked on past reputation. Even when he was dropped Cumberland and Stack were playing better than Castagna but George got the nod and we all saw what happened after that, Aarts I can somewhat understand he was putting up big numbers in the ressies but so was collier dawkins and he ain't getting a look in.

Do you remember when cumbers got picked on short notice to be the sub V swans in RD11, obviously the MC saw something back then leading up to that round as he had been playing well, but he didn’t get to play due to no injuries and the week after they debut Judson Clarke, should’ve been Cumbers based on his consistent form.

Now if lynch wasn’t injured V GC (RD16) would he have been in the week after v North? one would have to say no based on the previous time he was made sub.
I agree, Lamb's points are valid.

Just has natural football talent to me. I know Dimma said being a QLD boy they normally lack a little footy IQ to begin with.

Well it certainly doesn't show. He knows where the goals are & doesn't fart arse around with it & keeps his place in the team on kicking goals & not just running around guarding space.
