I'd like to see a Council of Elders. Like a board, full of highly-esteemed, unimpeachable Aussie legends

Kane lambert, shane edwards, peggy o'neil.

Ditch the red earth off the aboriginal flag

And if you dont love it, leave

So Morrison secretly got sworn into 5 portfolios. I imagine that gave him access to what they were working on.................spying on them?

You know what happened when Howard tried to think outside the box Spook and appoint someone other than army blokes. Only thing he could have done worse is select an alleged paedophile priest rather than just one alleged to have covered up abuse.

On a serious note. Would someone of the background of Christine Nixon be suitable?
NO! No *smile*'in cops!

When interviewed yesterday, somehow "couldn't recall" being sworn in as treasurer and home affairs minister, two of the most significant portfolio's in cabinet. He treats the public with such contempt and it's incredibly infuriating. What a scummy man he is.

ICAC can't be established quick enough, we need to know who else was involved in this murky *smile*.

Howard was the first PM to appoint a ex-military GG (Jeffrey) since Harold Holt. Howard was also the first to appoint any ex-clergymen to be GG in Australian history. Since then we've had Cosgrove appointed by Abbott, and now Hurley appointed by Morrison.

What a bizarre couple of days in Canberra

Only confirms my perception that spending 4 years living on Sydney harbour was scomo's soul motivation for being PM

Scummo's argument for doing this was in case Ministers keeled over from Covid and said he would have only used his powers in matters relating to the pandemic.

Of course in the one instance he used these ministerial powers, it was to overrule the resources minister to scuttle an unpopular gas mining licence on the central coast of NSW in December 2021. Nothing to do with pandemic. Why? Because it was electorally unpopular and the liberal members lobbied him. It was an attempt to shore up marginal seats for the Federal Election.

The *smile* couldn't lie straight in bed.

Clergyman was a bizarre choice for Howard. He’s not even an overtly religious man. Really can’t work out what he was doing there. Even Rudd is far more religious than Howard.

You know, a funny story I heard about Hollingsworth. He detested swearing and blasphemy. The area of the lake near Government House in Canberra is frequented by rowing crews accompanied by their coaches in tinnies yelling instructions, motivation or otherwise through a megaphone. Some of the language at times wasn’t of the sanitised version his excellency would prefer. He’d be awoken at crack of dawn by all manner of obscenities being uttered through megaphones.

So his complaints filtered through the appropriate channels down to the various rowing clubs that line Lake Burley Griffen, that his excellency would like them to keep their noise down and be aware of their language.

A cheeky local community newspaper got wind of it and ran with it. The headline the next week read, “Governor-General speaks out on boat people.”

governance and crime are a long way apart as much as the teals might think they are synonyms.
Announce it yes.
But so much of govt is in camera. Look at the fortunes govts of all persuasions spend on defending FOI requests. Commercial in confidence excuse to disguise the kick backs and cost blow outs on spending.
And even where there is one the one designated Minister they can be sidelined by the leader.

Here's where you appear to equate what Morrison did with normal "in camera" practices.

Shout out any time if you actually have a problem with what Morrison and Hurley have done. I know you've said it's not illegal - probably not, although constitutional lawyers will have a good look at it.

But is swearing in as a minister without telling the other minister, without it being gazetted, without telling parliament, without telling the Australian people... is that really ok with you?

I've got the perfect replacement for Morrison should he resign in disgrace, requiring a bi-election.
Peter V'landys would be a dead-set natural at politics, he's busy bending Perrottet over at moment, threatening to take the 2022 GF to Brisbane again. He's got a lot of leverage, because that would be 2 years in a row.
Pretty sure, V'landys, Morrison and Porter wrote the Liberal party commandments.
